Found porno links on my Favorites toolbar

Hey guys. Probably heard this one before. I found some porn links some website slipped on to my computer without my knowing it on my favorites toolbar. Norton's AntiVirus says they are clean and I'm not getting anything on Ad-Aware6. Anyone have any advice( besides "yeah, don't look at porn") before I delete them? I'm just being cautious.

Copy them down so you'll remember where to go next time?

Is it integrated onto your toolbar? If so it was probably a browser hijacker similiar to if not xupiter. Ad-aware doesn't always catch it and Norton doesn't consider browser hijackers to be a virus.

Do a search for files on xupiter and lop.

Ugh, Xupiter. I had that once. Had to go to a website that told me to go into the registry to get rid of it . Scary, but I did it. Those developers should be jailed!

No xupiter or lop files came up

I reconfigured the Ad-Aware settings to scan the IE, and it turned up an attempted browser hijack file. I deleted that file.

So with that deleted is it safe to delete those links?

Download Spybot(google it and it's the first link). It got rid of Xupiter, Gator and many others in a snap. And you might also download RegCleaner, it'll tell you what new registry entries have been made and can remove them for you. Both are free and very useful.
