That is so cool. I don't think I'd actually WANT something like that, but that is incredibly creative, and a real work of art, IMO.

What exactly makes these people freakish? Making those cases took a great deal of work and know how.

I guess if they had put a computer in a football helmet or a beer keg they would be heros.

I don't know. It's probably just me, but if I were to spend that much time putting a femputer together (and I certainly wouldn't), then I might work that fan port to the mouth instead to expell the hot air.

I don't know why people who build their own computers or modify the cases are freakish nerds... certainly not anymore freakishly nerdy than someone who posts on an internet message board.

For case mods and whatnot - check out www.hardforums.com - they have a gallery section with some wicked computer case mods and home-made cases.

I build my own computer from scratch last summer for about 1/2 the cost of buying it as a complete system from some computer company.

Looks like a lot of people here are trying to convince themselves that this is not what qualifies one as a freakish nerd

I think the project was very creative. Of course it isn't practical, but that wasn't the point. The fellow has some talent, too, looking at the all the sculpting he did.

This freakish nerd gives both of these case mods a .

"...and the geeks shall inherit the Earth."
