microsoft works word processor conversion

microsoft works word processor conversion

does anyone know how to convert from this format to microsoft word? i tried opening in rich text and wordpad but no luck...anyone know what to do? thanks

i tried to help some family members do it for an old version of works and never could get it to work... it wouldn't convert very well at all this was a version pre-installed on a pentium200 sony vaio. hopefully if yours is a little newer there might be a way to convert. (i tried to convert in word, wordperfect, and openoffice.org)

I thought it was a gutted version of Word. Works does have unique file extensions to distinguish document type. Try opening it from Word, not by double-clicking from Explorer. Word should offer a choice of file extension types. If not, try changing extension to .doc and try again with Word.

I haven't done it recently, so I kind of forget, but I know I've done it.
