Do I have a cheap scanner?

Do I have a cheap scanner?

Anyway when I scan something out of a magazine and upload it to the internet it is HUGE for example see here Warining it is a big picture. Anway there is no way to reduce the size of images unless I missed something I searched through help and everything. I got s visioneer paperport 3100B if that helps. Thanks if you can help

yeah that is a big picture, use a photo editing tool(Adobe Photoshop) to reduce the size

What DPI setting is your scanning software set at?

150, 300, 600, 1200 etc

it is set at 200 dpi and I dont want to buy photoshop

Ok, if you are just loading something up to the internet, then I believe you should set the dpi to 72.

You normally only go higher when you are going to print it.

But most monitors can only display 72 or 96? dpi.

It should be alot smaller now, without having to do a resize in an image program.

If that is still too big, you can resize the width and height in MS Paint.

http://www.irfanview.com is a great freeware utility that'll resize for you.

This is an AWESOME product if all you need are things like: viewing, resizing, brightness control, color control, gamma control, etc.

Does the picture you are trying to scan look like the link? If it doesn't, homeboy you need to get a new scanner especially at 200 dpi. I got the same company but diffrent model it's a 4400 and it 1200dpi. Mine looks bad as hell (in a good way) and what software are you scanning with anyway?

The scan looks like the picture just big the scan looks good and i am using the paperport software that came with the scanner. Right now I have to Scan the Club Newsletter from school and put it on the site so I hope it works. By the way thanks for the links I will check them out
