Damaged DVD-R help

I have two DVD R discs that have lines on the discs, causing them to be unreadable when they hit that point.

Anyone know if they are damaged for good, or if I could somehow salvage these DVDs (they hold home videos, not data).

it get the Cannot find server message when i click on that link


though, i would have to say that its unfixable. like for CD-R if a top layer on the CDR is chipped, like if you underneath it and you can see that chip, it won't be able to read in that area
