Bought a DV cam...

I just bought a DV camcorder, picked up a firewire card & cable, and some software to make VCD's & DVD's. Are there any useful tips that I should know about before jumping into all of this? Right now I'm trying to get enough video shot to make a DVD.

Any tips from past experiences? You know, some "DO's & DON'T's".

i think vcdhelp would be a good starting point. then when you have questions about what they have there, then post em up

oh, off the top of my head, don't go crazy with zooming and/or panning. if you need to do either, then be sure to do it in a slow smooth motion. quick zooms and pans will give your audience a headache.
