Video Card Recs....

Ok I got a PIII 800 running Windows 98, currently I got a Voodoo3 2000 AGP. Need to upgrade.I am totally confused about the Geforce2 TI, MX, Pro, GTS . Which one is good? Is it true that they (Geforce2) cards suck a lot from the main processor while a Geforce3 doesnt? If some one could tell me which brands are good and which suck. My budget is UNDER 150 Bucks. Thank you in advance...

Well what are you specifically looking to use it for?

2D applications, 3D games?

Though I'm assuming gaming because you have a Voodoo3 and are asking about the GeForce cards.

But you may want to specify.

I mean I have a GeForce II, but I only run 2D.

Both, with emphasis on gaming like quake or Flight simulator. I am not willing to pay for the BEST card like a Geforce3 but I want something that will be good for the next 2 years or so. I've seen VisionTek and PNY at Best Buy but dont know if they are any good. Thanks.

I know you don't want a Geforce3 card, but how about one for $173 shipped including a free game?

I just bought one of these yesterday for a new computer I am building IMO, the Geforce 3 TI200 are the best "bang for your buck" out there right now!

Right now have an MSI Geforce 2 Pro and am very happy with it. It overclocks very well and the benchmark performance as well as real world gaming performance is excellent.

Sounds great, are there any companies I should stay away from as far as poor support or poor hardware quality?

value?

it is a GTS card that they clock at a lower speed. the memory chips are supposed to be slower than the GTS chips also. however people seem to be able to overclock them to GTS levels so It is a great deal.
