How do I change modem to PULSE dialing?

Hi,
I just got a USR external modem. My line is pulse but the modem only dials in tone so I'm stuck. How do I change the modem so that it dials in pulse?
I tried going into the Dialing Properties in the Control Panel and despite it saying Pulse dialing, it still dials in Tone. Is this a software issue of changing the dialing type or is this issue with the modem?
Thanks
Andy

If you changed the settings, try restarting. Or try re-installing the drivers. First things that should be done.

From what I remember, you need to use the AT command for the modem somewhere in the set-up.

For pulse dialing, it would be ATDP. (ATDT is for tone dialing.) It's been awhile since I toyed around with those commands.

That's the only other solution I can think of offhand.
