The biopic, titled Chespirito: Not really on purpose, dramatizes the life of Bolanos from his childhood to the 1950’s to the 1980’s, when conflicts with his co-star, Carlos Villagrán, who portrayed Kiko in El Chavo del Ocho, ended the series.

Bolanos (1929-2014), who went by the stage name Chespirito, was a prolific Mexican actor, writer and director who created memorable characters, including El Chapulin Colorado, (The Crimson Grasshopper) a bumbling superhero, whose costume made him look like a red bumblebee. The character was the inspiration for Bumblebee Man on The Simpsons.

Apparently, the mini-series will be in Spanish with English subtitles, which is the trailer’s format.
