Live Broadcast - Pre-Recorded Video
 

We are a music school and have recorded all our students performances.
We are looking for a way to “Live Broadcast” the event as an “Invite Only”. Our audience will by 200-300.

What is the best way to accomplish this?

When we tried uploading to YouTube our video was blocked as some of our students were performing cover tunes.

Though I think you need an upgraded subscription for unlimited meeting time and large invite list. Double check that.

Yes, that level of laid Zoom account would do that.

I think you can also do a live premiere of a private link video on YouTube, but you may need to meet their criteria first of having your channel robust enough (enough subscribers, been around a certain amount of time, etc.).

You might want to try Vimeo. I think their content ID filters are a lot less draconian than YouTube. You'll have to subscribe to a Vimeo Premium account for at least one month. Here are the instructions:

You'll need something to push the pre-recorded video file to Vimeo's streaming servers. You can use software like OBS Studio, and use it to "Stream via RTMP" to Vimeo at the appropriate time.

Alternatively, you can DIY the whole thing if you're technical enough. You need an encoder (like OBS Studio or ffmpeg or PyLivestream) to send the video file via RTMP to an HLS Server. The HLS Server (nginx can be configured for this) needs enough bandwidth and processing power to serve out all the simultaneous streams. Gigabit upload should be enough for 200-300 streams. Then, you need an HLS player for people to view it with. I've used video.js embedded on a web page, and it works really well.
