Arrow horror streaming service
Arrow Video, one of the premier horror video labels in the home video space, is launching a new horror streaming service. The new service will launch in the US and Canada on October 1st, with a free 30-day trial available and then a monthly fee of only $4.99, ala Shudder. Arrow will launch with classics like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Hellraiser 1 and 2, Ringu, and the complete Gamera run of films. Cult films are their specialty; however, plucking great and forgotten horror from nowhere and making us Monster Kids remember. Look for director Edgar Wright's top Arrow picks as well to be posted to the service. Get more info on the new venture down below.

Re: Arrow horror streaming service -- Launches 10/1/20
Sounds like this is the same as the Arrow Video Channel that's been available on Apple TV. Nice to see it available on other devices.
I'll probably subscribe from time to time. But I already own most of their titles on Apple TV due to the frequent $2.99 sales.

The price isn't bad. I just don't have the time. Plus looks like I probably already own many of these titles.

Picture doesn’t do my reaction justice. C’mon D, we’re way beyond saturation with so many boutique services at this point. Who has the time anymore?

I hold no ill will towards Arrow for attempting a streaming service. It's a virtual risk-free shot that leverages their existing catalog. I do wonder about pricing. These niche services would work better if they priced their wares at $3 per month or a much steeper annual discount. I'm guessing server costs and infrastructure expenses probably precludes cheaper pricing.

Do they know the exact number of movies they will have available to stream on the start-up date?

They've been on Apple for a long ass time. I tested the waters and it was fine for what it wast. They do not include top tiered titles, though. If you wants the more obscure titles then that's your best bet.

Ah, now they tell me. I signed up for it Saturday night. Oh well. I did opt for the yearly subscription price and also got a free month out of it, so it sort of works out at the end.

Re: Arrow horror streaming service
I noticed that the Arrow service is streaming the Shaw Brothers films that they have released on their labels (Shawscope Volume 1, Come Drink With Me and 8th Diagram Pole Fighter). I would sign up immediately if they got the rights of other Shaw Brothers films, once that they haven't released physically. I guess the ones that 88 Films have rights to, will be a no.
