It’s always slow to load, but for the first time last night, my wife and I saw an entire movie without that app stopping or glitching out. Unfortunately it was while watching Reminiscence.

HBO Max is a little clunky on the Roku, but I also have an Apple TV 4K and at least for me it plays and loads very smoothly on that device. But of course that's my most expensive streaming device.

On Twitter I just see non stop daily complaints about the HBO Max app. So many are agitated and threatening to cancel.
From what I can tell, the app problematic on game consoles, Fire Sticks and the Roku for some people. Do any of you have issues? The comments I see say it has playback error messages, crashes or won't FF or Rewind properly.
I haven't had any issues on my Roku, although I do own an Ultra and I don't know if it's problematic on the cheaper devices. I've never had issues on my new Apple TV 4K that I bought a few months. In fact, I think that's the best running app.

Not really. I have a Roku 4 that's getting up there in the years, I find the app navigation to be slow but it works fine once I get a movie or show started, including FF/RR.
I've had more issues with the Apple TV+ App lately (randomly drops audio).

I use a Streaming Stick Plus, and the only problem I've had is sometime when I scroll "down" (like through an episode list), when I get to the bottom of the list, if I go down one more time, it sometimes kicks me out of the app. But play/pause, FF/RW, no problems that I can recall.

HBO Max crashed twice in 40 minutes of a movie today. The audio keeps playing, but the screen gets covered by an “Oops!” message and asks me to restart the app.

^ During Lasso mine will start fine, then the audio will drop, then I'll just lose all control of the app and the video lags out. Then it all catches up and is out of sync.
A full reboot will fix it as long as I don't go to a different app first.

For anyone looking for something to watch and missed it on The CW, the entire 1st season of Superman & Lois (15 episodes) is coming to HBO Max on Friday. You have time to catch up. Season 2 won't air until 2022. They just started production today.

They have the full season of Superman & Lois on the CW app as well. Often they just have 5 eps. I would imagine watching it on HBOMax is more enjoyable if you have the ad free sub..

After HBO Drops Off Amazon Prime, WarnerMedia Intros HBO Max 50% Off Deal — For All New or Former Customers
WarnerMedia is trying to help offset the loss of about 5 million HBO subscribers who had signed up through Amazon in the U.S. with an aggressive discount offer on HBO Max.
As of Sept. 15, HBO subscriptions through Amazon Prime Video Channels officially shut down. But WarnerMedia is angling to get those customers back: Starting Friday, those who accessed HBO via Prime Video Channels — as well as all new and returning HBO Max subscribers in the U.S. — can sign up for the premium HBO Max ad-free monthly plan at a 50% discount.
The new limited-time promotion lets eligible customers get HBO Max for $7.49/month for six months; after that, the rate goes up to the regular $14.99/month. WarnerMedia began promoting the deal Friday on hbomax.com; customers also can sign up through Apple, Google, LG, Microsoft, Sony, Roku and Vizio.
The 50% off deal is available in the U.S. only through Sept. 26, and is squarely targeted at Amazon Prime users who have just lost access to HBO and HBO Max.

Re: HBO Max — Warnermedia streaming service
We are a regular $14.99/mo subscription. Been thinking about the annual $149.99/yr prepay. Just received an offer via email for $109.99/yr prepay. Definitely jumping in at that rate.
Check your email for this offer if you are a regular monthly subscriber.
