Apparently HBO Max will do a big update to their app in the next few months due to many complaints about glitches

I follow HBO Max's Twitter feed and I always see them responding to a bombardment of complaints.

Good. In addition to the play failures, sometimes I open the app on PS4 Pro, and it randomly starts scrolling down the page.

I’ve never ever had problem on Android tv. Never stops and starts. Nothing, ever. Second fav user interface behind Vudu. This really glitches for people?

It constantly crashes on my PS4. It works ok for me on Roku. I’ve had a few crashes and not able to play episodes of certain shows for a few days. The Roku app is way better than the PS4 though.

It has the worst interface out of any streaming service, by a mile. I hope they redesign it from top to bottom. And to make the profiles easier to use. With make an actual children’s account or none at all.

No, general consensus, or they wouldn’t be responding by redesigning it.

re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

I think the design is a bit clunky, but I don't have that many problems using it. Though I'm not really a scroll-through type of user, where I imagine, people could run into issues.
It's nowhere near as bad as Paramount+.

re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

I just find, click, play with no issues. Always easy as pie. It’ll never be Vudu, but it’s pretty good. AP is great with character names and real names, song info at bottom if you hit remote. Love that.

It's glitched for me before using my Android TV. One time was while watching ZS Justice League. Had to watch the rest of the movie through my Comcast box...

Lois and Clark, the 1990s ABC Superman series, is coming August 3rd.

The article doesn’t mention it but it looks like this had to be remastered to HD.
This looks amazing.

That's good news. When it was in DCU, it was listed as HD yet was definitely an upconvert at best. Very soft and in some ways blurry. I was hesitant thinking maybe it was that same crappy encode. We will have to give this a watch.

Re: HBO Max — Warnermedia streaming service

I have a code for a 30 day trial of HBO Max I got from Cyberpunk 2077. I can't guarantee it works because it says game has to have been purchased last year at release and there were limited codes. If any non-lurker wants to give it a go, let me know, and I can PM the code.

Edit: claimed

Re: HBO Max — Warnermedia streaming service

After getting a 4k TV recently I was excited at being able to watch HBO shows in 4k. I was shocked to see none of their originals are in 4k!

I can see them ignoring older shows but recent ones there should be no excuse. He'll they even have Game Of Thrones and Westworld on 4K physical.

My giess is that they are working on putting their content in 4K and plan on rolling out a a higher Tier

Re: HBO Max — Warnermedia streaming service

Yeah the only thing in 4k is usually new movies. It is sort of annoying that we pay as much for this as Netflix, but they don't provide same quality. Hopefully that changes in near future, maybe with the app upgrades..

Re: HBO Max — Warnermedia streaming service

Mostly I don’t have a problem when using the HBO Max app, but every once in a while on the Roku at my girlfriend’s place it takes time to load up, and once in a while I need to close out and restart the app.
