I guess this means they'll finally release Superman: The Animated Series on BD this year. They've had HD transfers more or less ready for a couple years.

I've never had any issues using HBO Max until today, and it is now driving me crazy. I'm trying to start a movie on my Roku. The preview commercial for HBO Max comes up. No matter whether I select skip on the commercial, fast forward or watch it, once the commercial ends, it sends me back to the movie selection screen. I can't get the damn movie to start! 
I've exited the app several times. I've even unplugged the Roku. Anyone else have this problem?

So why in the world will the app load the Tom and Jerry movie without sticking a promo in front of it but Judas and the Black Messiah only allows me to play a commercial? Ugh. Most disappointing.

Finally got the movie start. I have no idea why it suddenly decided to work. All of my software was already updated. It was just being buggy.

We had something similar happen when trying to watch The Little Things. After about giving up, we decided to start another's title and it started to work. Then we went back to the Little Things and it worked.
Only had that issue 1 time. The significant thing that matches your situation was the commercial at the beginning.

FYI, the new WB HBO Max movie Judas and the Black Messiah has a whopping 8 1/2 hours of bonus features. Longer than the movie. 
I counted all the run times. The interviews average about 30 minutes each and there is a lot of them. I know this movie doesn’t interest most of you, but that’s pretty impressive. Most won’t have time to watch them though.

I didn't create a thread in TV Talk because there was literally no interest in it, but the FOX series Prodigal Son's 1st season is now on HBO Max as of today. The 2nd season is currently airing and can be streamed on Hulu.
It's a WB series, so that's why it's on HBO Max.
and Cold Case and Without a Trace are delayed until June.

I think HBO Max mentioned they were planning an ad supported version before it launched. A little surprised they are doing it since you wouldn't expect premium content like there's to be ad supported. But then again, it's the most expensive streaming service and not everyone right now has the finances to support this service year round.
