Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Good point.

Lot of complaining on Twitter, obviously, though I don't know why people are acting like switching to YouTube TV takes a lot of work, or canceling takes a lot of work.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Well, the primary reason I have broadcast TV is local sports, so I guess I'll be switching to Hulu Live for now.

YouTube TV and Sinclair reach a short term extension.

They are still negotiating.

I wondered if there would be a last-minute deal or extension of some kind. Glad I didn't switch yet.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

YES was dropped again, they then slammed YoutubeTV for not making money appear out of nowhere.

Confusing new deal, but looks like most big market FOX Sports RSNs will be dropped.

What a mess. Hope they figure it out for the long term eventually for their sake.

In that article it also says that aall nationally televised Yankees games will be blacked out by the team on YouTube TV.

This clearly explains the new deal.

Basically if you live in Los Angeles or New York and even Chicago you got hosed.

YouTube TV will not carry FOX Sports West, Prime Ticket, YES Network as mentioned and the new Cubs network Marquee.

I don't understand this deal.

Sinclair overpaid their hand. Good for Google. I don't care about those channels so if it keeps them from raising costs, all the better.

Well duh you live in Arizona, so of course you wouldn't care about LA, NY or Chicago markets getting dropped.

I guess they think dropping/not carrying 3 big markets will save them money or something.

Yeah, you're hosed if you're in one of those 3 cities. I guess they thought making the rest of the country happy was more important than raising prices again so soon.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Being able to watch Yankee games was one of the bigger reasons why I ditched cable for YouTube TV. Bummer. I guess I'll have to figure something else out now.

Best legal way to do it is getting MLB TV and using a VPN to go over your blackout restrictions.

If you have T Mobile, they are actually giving MLB TV free for their customers, which they have done for the last 3 years.

I am sorry I don't care if you don't get your channels.

In all seriousness, these bigger sports nets affect costs for every one else. Sucks they are gone if you are in those markets, but that seems to be the going trend. YouTube TV is not the first to drop YES network.

Dude I don't expect you to care. I wasn't laughing when you were freaking out about FS Arizona possibly being dropped last week.

I still have DirecTV, so this issue doesn't matter to me (for the time being) I still get the FS regionals and have my Lakers network. But for those like me from California who got screwed by this and won't get Kings, Ducks and Angels this summer, that sucks for them.

It's one of the reasons why I won't switch to Internet Live TV because there is really no consistency with the channels these services. They are keeping some and dumping the more expensive ones to save money.

Or Northwest Ohio. We went from having Fox Sports Detroit, Fox Sports Ohio, and Sportstime Ohio, to none of them.

I live in Chicago and I'm glad YouTubeTV isn't carrying the Marquee Network. Screw the Cubs and their money-grabbing owners.

They dropped almost everyone it seems, I'm in Florida and our RSNs are gone as well.

Well, looks like dropping the RSNs won't hurt them too bad this season afterall.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

There are reports that the picture quality had improved with YT TV. Anyone notice any difference? I do notice some crushed blacks and screen door effect on some shoes, mainly CBS stuff.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

I just signed up early last week, motivated by March Madness and the beginning of the baseball season. Poor timing on my part.

Just got an email and they are giving everyone a free month if Epix. Says it will automatically fall off so no need to cancel.
