I want to get the exorcist in 4k. Is the theatrical cut or the director's cut the best version?

Weird that neither version comes with the other one.

Picked up Exorcist 1 and 2 and Of Unknown Origin. Never heard of it until today and just watched it. It was fantastic

I have all the Uni Hitchcocks in HD so I’m only upgrading my favorites to 4k.

Theatrical. The spider-walk scene was cut I believe mostly because it looked stupid and it still does. (ETA: It also completely throws off the flow of the film.) I feel the theatrical is more focused and effective.

I ended up getting the theatrical cut of The Exorcist, Malignant, and Doctor Sleep.

I picked up Scream 5 and upgraded Breakdown to 4K

Yup, I got Scream 2, 3 and 6 for under $18 total on that sale and redeemed them in iTunes.

That's a steal. Saves me from buying the 4K discs. Now I just need 4 to come out cheap at some point. It's still $9.99, but it's not owned by Paramount.

4 shows up in Fanflix sales occasionally. I think it was in a buy 2 for $5 sale recently. It's also $5 on Vudu, unless you want them all on iTunes.

Yes I prefer them all in iTunes. I think I recall 4 popping up in some Lionsgate cheap sales. I'll keep a lookout.

It was in a 2 for $5 sale earlier this year. Hopefully they’ll have it on sale again this month.

I think it's gone already. I also see it at 90 but it also looks to be the top TV show on the app right now so the sale must have been active. Unless a ton of people decided to buy it at full price recently.
