Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread
My kids are just as creeped out by it as I was when I first watched it, except now we have much better cgi to compare it to. We watched it before we went to the Polar Express train ride but it's such nightmare fuel I'm surprised there are people who aren't nostalgic for it that enjoy it.

If you haven’t seen Polar Express in 3D, then you haven’t really seen it.

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread
Not a deal yet many in this thread signed up for Moviespree about 3 years ago. MovieSpree shut down all ways to access our content except the web interface last year. And now it looks like Moviespree is getting worse.
For example, the Benji complete collection I own no longer works. When I contacted customer support they stated they no longer have the rights for the titles. Therefore, even those who already had digital rights lose them and can no longer play titles owned.
So check any title/collection you have on their service to see if you actually still have access to those titles.

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread
Microsoft is offering The Night Before free in UHD with the purchase of another Christmas title. The good news is that the list is really standard titles (not just Sony stuff), and apparently because I already owned some, I was able to redeem the offer with no new purchase. I think I watched this movie once and don’t remember if I liked it.
Sony, so it’s an MA title.

FYI : Pulp Fiction, Saturday Night Fever and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence also include iTunes Extras if you redeem them on iTunes, but nothing with Vudu. Probably more as well. Apple really wants to hide that benefit, apparently.
I went with PF and MWSLV, but it was hard not to rebuy SNF as well. Will have to think about getting some more before this deal is done.
Edit : Also Almost Famous and Grease. (Grease has a few bonus features in VUDU, but I'm pretty sure iTunes has more -- though that's just based on their description of "over an hour", since VUDU has less than 30 minutes of extra content.
Actually also The Untouchables has more Extra features, at least based on time apparently. Vudu has about 45 min, iTunes has "Over an hour".

I picked up Better Off Dead, To Catch a Thief, and Pulp Fiction. I was going to buy Planes, Trains, and Automobiles in 4K, but I already had it in my library. I think I bought the Blu-ray and the code was an old Paramount code that you could use at multiple sites (I also have the HD digital copy at Vudu). iTunes gave me the free 4K upgrade. That's why it's best to always redeem codes at iTunes.

If you guys have Roku, keep an eye out for a Red Box billboard ad on the right that you can click to get a free $6 off rental code. That is if you use Red Box for VOD or free streaming.

Can't check right now, but that's probably a PM of Apple, which sells Donnie Darko cheap all the time. If you have a choice, go with the Apple version as it has a bunch of bonus features.

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread
All six Max Original movies that were pulled suddenly in August are available to purchase in that deal.
Just like Netflix and Hulu, each month HBO Max announces what movies and TV shows will be added to the service during the following month, as well as what will be leaving during that period. But in the case of An American Pickle, Moonshot, Superintelligence, The Witches remake, Locked Down and Charm City Kings, there was no prior warning. These six movies have simply been taken off HBO Max over the last several weeks without any fuss, although they can still be purchased or rented through third-party VOD platforms

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread
Posting a deal (hopefully) because I'm also looking for input on it
Vudu, in addition to all their other stuff in their Christmas sale currently occurring, has
Sailor Moon - Complete Classic Series for 59.99.
That's about 90% off their regular price. Bluray/DVD combo sets are going for 30-50 per half season, DVD-only, 18-25. This looks to include
Original, R, S, Super S, and Sailor Stars. So, a bunch of content.
The potential large caveat:
This is the English dubbed version.
I know there was some history and drama regarding the dubs.
Anyone have any insight on the quality of the dubs of this version? Is this the 'good' dub, or the 'not good' dub? Or does it really matter, at this price point and for this title?
I had started re-watching this on Hulu (they have the entire series, both subbed and dubbed) but who knows how long they'll have it.
