They don't have American Gods anymore. Like at all.

So now I'm struggling to find anything I want to watch (that I didn't already watch when I had this service several years ago). Anyone have any recommendations?

Also if I cancel the renewal now it still goes until my due date, right? You'd think that would be obvious but when I had Paramount Plus through sportsline they terminated P+ as soon as I cancelled even though I had like a month left.
American Gods wasn't owned by Starz and the licensing eventually expired.

Starz is probably the worst premium network/streaming service out of all the major services. I have a 1 year, $24 promo that I got last December, which is super cheap and barely use it.

If you've never seen it, Spartacus is an entertaining watch. I believe there is a new series coming in August or September. But, it's not for kids.

Black Sails is also good if you like Pirate themed action shows. But, also not for children.

Ash vs Evil Dead is good if you liked the Evil Dead series

Outlander is probably Starz's most popular series. But, it's a period romance adventure. I don't know if that interests you at all. It's more geared to women.

Power was very popular on Starz and spawned several spinoffs It's an Urban gangster series. I only saw the 1st season and did like it.

Flight Risk was just released on Starz and came out in the Spring. I don't know how often you use streaming services for watching movies, but their library is not great. It's mostly stuff you've seen circulate around other services.

I mostly liked the Serpent Queen, and I bought the same year deal for Spartacus later this year; I also might try that Betty Gilpin show they got the rights too. Beyond that, Starz is largely the Power/Outlander streaming service.

DJariya hit the high points. I had Starz around 6 months ago and watched basically anything that interested me and have not resubscribed.

You may have seen these, but Minx is short and really fun. Party Down is fantastic if you never saw that and the out of nowhere, reunion/comeback season is just as good as the first original two. BMF is just okay but the documentary is great. Magic City is really good.

Speaking of documentary series, Wrong Man is good. Evil By Design is good. Confronting A Serial Killer comes across as a vanity piece but it still pretty interesting. Seduced, about the NXIVM cult is pretty interesting.

Obviously Black Sails, Ash Vs. Evil Dead and Spartacus are the big dogs and if you haven't seen those, watch them now!

I tried Da Vinci's Demons and was bored and didn't get far. Wanted to try Power and/or Outlander and all their spin-offs but that looked like a serious time investment, and I never got around to any of them.

I keep passing on that 1 year promo because there's nothing I want to watch on Starz. The stuff I would want to watch again I already have in my digital library (Spartacus, Ash vs Evil Dead and Party Down)

Yeah I already have Black Sails and Ash vs. Evil Dead on digital because they were dirt cheap (and I didn't think I'd ever resubscribe to Starz). Maybe I'll finally finish Spartacus. It was just kind of surprising to me how little there was I was interested in especially after years of not having it.

The White Queen is pretty much what got Rebecca Ferguson noticed in the early '10s. I liked that and the follow-up White Princess series with Jodie Comer as her daughter. I didn't finish the second follow-up the Spanish Princess. The lead actress there wasn't nearly at the level of Ferguson and Comer. .

re: STARZ -- streaming service

The new Spartacus series starts in December

Starz currently has a 1-year promo for $11.99 that runs through September 30

If you have an AMEX card, you can also get an extra $3 cash back

and you can also get an additional $3 back from Rakuten

So it's possible to get Starz for only $6 for a year

You know it is a shitty streaming service when people question whether it is worth 12 bucks for a whole year.

Starz really just needs to pack it in or fold into another service.

Re: STARZ -- streaming service

I know... I grabbed it back in September for $11.99 just for Spartacus next month. I haven't used it yet since signing up.

yeah, unless you’re a fan of the Outlander dramas or Power and its various spinoffs, it’s not a good network or streaming service for the masses. I had it for the past year for $24 and hardly used it. Even the movie selection isn’t great. Most notably they get the recent Lionsgate titles and its various VOD releases, but most of them suck.

Do they have Dolby Atmos and Dolby vision (4k)?

Not the last time I watched something which was a couple of months ago.

Eh, I've spent more on less. Gave this one a shot. I put a calendar reminder for next Thanksgiving to cancel.

Re: STARZ -- streaming service

So decided hey maybe I should actually use the service since I paid for it... are there really unskippable commercials (for their own shows) before each episode? Or am I doing something wrong.

Yeah... I haven't been able to skip them either. Spartacus: House of Ashur is in 4K overseas but not on Starz in the US. Seriously...?

Re: STARZ -- streaming service

It's interesting that Spartacus is probably the most popular show that Starz has ever aired and the new series is great so far. But, almost no one is talking about it. DVD Talk I understand, people here are years behind on shows that aren't "Popular IP"

I mean who has Starz (who didn't get it for dirt cheap AND remembers they have it)?

Yes, that's another thing. Starz is probably the least popular premium cable network and premium subscription service out there.

The vast majority of their original shows are the Urban crime dramas like Power and its dozens of spinoffs and of course Outlander. Spartacus came back after being off the air for years.

No one wants to pay for it unless it's super cheap.

I own Spartacus on Blu-ray, the little square collector's box with the red ribbon that looks like a book. I will probably get the Blu-ray for House of Asher. Haven't had STARZ since I binged the 3 seasons of "Vida" a couple of years ago.

The year for $12 was my max.
