That's a helpful thread. Thanks.

To answer my question: Some new movies and a small handful of TV seasons have been added. It's not dead yet.

I added a few more titles & also added descriptions as to what box sets they came from. I just wish I found out about this program sooner before it went from $1 to $2 a movie.

Sure would love to see a lists of blu-rays you scan it. You said you did something like 660 & I bet that was when it only cost $1.

I thought it was more. I think it was $2 though. Not sure exactly. Yeah, I went crazy. Did almost whole blu collection. I was like addicted. Was always fun to see if go or not. Most did. Some gave me other movies that had nothing with disc inserted. Didn’t know what that was. Did like 100 a day or some shit. Have a few more set to go since I can do it again...

The Mission was recognized, but it only offered me an SD version (for $2) because that's all they have on site. I skipped it.

I bought the similar Marilyn Classic 9-Film Collection (adds Niagra and Bus Stop to the above list) back in 2014. I'm not sure why HTMAM doesn't work, but the other two are MGM, so that makes sense.

Vudu currently has on sale an 11-film collection (drops the MGM titles above and adds Don't Bother to Knock, All About Eve, Monkey Business, and Let's Make Love) for $35. I might just go that route because the price will be close if I use a coupon, and it won't affect my 100 cap. When I saw the sale bundle, I remembered I had the BD bundle and realized I hadn't tried it during my end-of-year converting spree because I still have it shrink-wrapped and stored in a different spot from my other BDs. I probably would've done that at the time, especially because I didn't know this sale was coming.

Just open my Monsters The Essential Collection UK Box set. None of the 8 Blu-ray movies were recognized.

Yeah, I got that UK Monsters set several years ago and have tried to do those over the years, but no luck. Same with the UK Hitchcock Ultimate set. Shame since the UK Bourne set discs were accepted.

I have a couple of questions. Firstly, do you actually download a file of the movie or is it simply access to the movie streaming through a library?

Secondly, what is to stop someone going into a store and scanning a UPC code from a movie box? Seems like an easy way to get a movie for $2 that you don't actually own.

Disc to Digital is just like buying a movie at Vudu. They let you buy it at a discounted price because you already own it on disc. Once you buy it, you stream it on their service. There's no need to download/upload any files.

You can't go into a store and scan the UPC code. The Vudu app uses your phone's GPS to find your location. You have to be at the address listed on your Vudu billing records. So you can only scan UPC codes when the GPS can verify you are at your own home.

Or conversely, when you are at the same address as your billing records, whether that's your home or not.

Well I did a 30 second search on Google and found lots of sites that have UPC codes ready to scan online. Seems a flawed system if you ask me.

Well I started ripping my blu rays to go on my Shield, but I have a feeling its gonna be a lot of trial and error to get file sizes down to something reasonable using Handbrake.

Yes, but you're limited to 100 M2D conversions per calendar year, so that's how they protect against that abuse.

Seen this over at BR .com.

True Lies is now mobile 2 digital. No blu-ray, so a $5 dvd conversion to get HDX.
Currently, you can't even buy it. It has been pulled (hidden unless you owned it) and come back.
Also, NOT MA. (I don't know why since it's FOX)

And now, Star Wars: A New Hope is available mobile 2 digital.

I did my first Disc to Digital conversion today. The app won't recognize my location unless I go in the backyard and scan discs. I got digital copies of some blu-ray discs that didn't come with codes: Superbad, Julie and Julia, and Risky Business. I tried to scan Easy A and it couldn't read the barcode.

Re: The "Official" Disc to Digital Discussion Thread

Also added yesterday: The Abyss Theatrical & Special Edition are mobile 2 Digital, but both are ONLY IN SD currently.

I was able to scan the barcode from my Blu-ray of Easy A a minute ago.

Mine is a weird edition. It's the Meg DeAngelis edition. I bought it on discount at Big Lots for $1.88. That's probably the problem.

And it looks pretty good too. I almost never pay for the HDX upgrade but I did for SW and True Lies.

I converted a couple more discs today. It's weird that the app doesn't work inside the house, but it works fine out by the pool....
