We also have had situations where we have only 1 series in process and when caught up nothing will show until that series releases a new episode. Then that row returns when scrolling tha app.

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service

I’m a couple years behind in being able to watching any of the new Star Trek shows, so I’m debating on one of the annual plans or just buying the ST seasons physically. Streaming would be cheaper, but I own all ST on disc up until a few years ago, so my OCD wants that more expensive option.

If I do the streaming, I’ll do the $60/year for no ads and Showtime, seems worth it even though I’ve never really watched any Showtime.

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service

I'm behind on The Amazing Race and Survivor so I'm not posting this in those threads. I was watching today on Roku and it said on the show pages best possible format will be shown, but Only Paramount+ Showtime $11.99 plan subscribers will see shows in 4K UHD. I have that plan, but Survivor and The Amazing Race were only in HD. I wasn't sure if they changed from HD to 4K this season or not or if that message pops up for every show.

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service

I just took a very long survey about my experience with Paramount Plus. My main suggestions were more 4K content, keep highlighting A24 content, add bonus material and director's commentary to catalog movies, and clearly show when movies are getting rotated out to encourage me to watch them. I mainly keep the channel for new releases, so there is just enough there to keep it, but it is fun to find an older movie to watch, and this compliments MAX very well for movie choices.

Considering physical media is slowly going away they should (but probably won't) improve extras on streaming content.

Why spend the money? Last I looked they were actually removing extra content that was there (and now I'm wondering what residuals there are for bonus content).

I think it's ridiculous that every movie/show on streaming doesn't at least have a trailer to get someone interested.

Well, having extras would create more engagement and stickiness to their streaming app, especially if they were to promote it inside their app. But, yeah, I was trying to think of things to put in the survey.

Ah, gotcha. I would've said stop putting unskippable trailers in front of their content.

They can be skipped, at least on the Apple TV. Exit the ad as soon as it starts and play again. No ad.

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service

Maybe this is confirmation bias and maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but lately it feels like content that I watch on Paramount+ doesn't have any required ads, but kid-oriented content that my kids watch on Paramount+ do have unskippable promo ads for other Paramount+ shows, especially Nickelodeon-based shows. One of the reasons I pay extra to get rid of ads is to expose my kids to less ads overall. I mean, they're for shows on the network and not products, but it feels weird, especially since it feels like it's more on their kid content than my content.

^^^ Yup, that's exactly what I've noticed. Most content doesn't have any (or very little) pre-roll, but every episode of kids shows has a promo for other kids shows.

THANK YOU! I've been saying this in the MAX thread as they have been seemingly removing trailers and it suuuuucks.

Oh cool, it's not just my imagination then because I swear some movies had trailers before that don't now.

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service

YES! It is so bizarre to me. I've used trailers to get my kids interested in trying catalog titles but without trailers I have to rely on YouTube and I've really tried to keep them off YouTube as much as possible because of 1. all of the stinking ads and 2. the "influencers" they watch aren't what I want them to watch.

This is a good idea. My kids watch those influencers all day long, and it's all garbage.

Fatal Attraction was a continuing series? I didn't make it to the end but assumed it was a limited series.

I like Sutherland, but I'm good with Rabbit Hole not continuing. It was a mess. But, it did end mostly with closure.

Fatal Attraction started out promising, but ended so badly.

I agree with DJariya - Rabbit Hole was a hot mess. It would go back and forth between serious drama and slapstick comedy - it had no direction.

How is the movie catalog on Paramount+? Not as interested in the series.

The movie selection is better, now that Showtime is integrated. I'd say it's middling now. I can usually find a couple new movies each month worth watching. It used to be terrible, with just hundreds of bottom-of-the-barrel dreck titles.
