The second half of season one of The Tick released today.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
Amazon Prime added a few seasons of CHiPS and Dukes of Hazzard. I hope this leads to more 70s and 80s shows.

HBO will pull their content from Amazon Prime mid-2018, when their current deal expires. Just finished Curb Your Enthusiasm S1-8. Looking to do either 6 Feet Under and/or Entourage next. On a sidenote, the Prime streaming app on Roku changed the other day. The menu is at the top now, nothing on the side. Icons are smaller, but seems OK so far. |

Amazon Prime Video picked up the exclusive streaming rights to House, Friday Night Lights and Eureka. They also picked up Parks and Recreation, but that is also streaming on Netflix and Hulu. |
Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
There's some discussion going around about Amazon dropping their bitrate.
https://www.reddit.com/r/television/..._to_crap_this/ If this is true, it's a shame. Amazon had some of the best looking HD video streams. |
Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
That does suck. FWIW, I just watched the first 3 episodes of Picnic at Hanging Rock, it looked damn good. Been a while since I streamed from them, but I don't recall seeing any noticeable differences when I watched these recent episodes.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
This looks to be fixed. Now whether it was an error on Amazon's part or they backed off the changes due to the complaints... still no official word from Amazon. -screwy-

How do you know it's been fixed?

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
Amazon Prime Studios miniseries. Full series is coming May 25th. I'm part of Amazon Preview group, so we get sneak peeks and surveys of shows coming out. I was able to see 3 of the 6 episodes. Very good show so far.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
Yeah I confused this show with the one on Stars, Howard’s End.

Here's an update to an article on TorrentFreak: Update April 20: Still no response from Amazon’s PR department but our source reports that changes have been made since the article was published yesterday. Here’s his report from this morning. “As I understand, there are often multiple encodes of the same show depending on which site it is being served from. Primevideo and Amazon could be considered as two separate streaming sites, as the files they serve tend to differ a tiny amount. Often it’s not an obvious difference, but the with the change over this last week, the differences were more pronounced. Amazon appear to assign a version or profile to the published encode being served to the end user. The past seven days, this value has changed for newer streams compared to the older streams. As of a few hours ago, the profile assigned to streams released in the past week now returns the same value as the older streams. This is also reflected in the overall size of the files. There is still a chance Amazon will do further changes and manipulate the bitrate further, but for the moment, quality has been restored.” FULL ARTICLE - https://torrentfreak.com/pirates-tau...uality-180419/ |

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
^ Which averages to about $9.91 per month. Still worth it.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
Hmmm, I don't order as much as I used to and don't watch Prime video as often, so I'll have to think about this. My membership doesn't renew until November so I have time to think if it's still worth it for me.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
My account still reads: "Next payment: On August 6th, 2018, you will be charged $99 for a year of Prime."
Not sure if we're "grandfathered" in for another year, or if this page will change soon, but right now it appears my rate is not changing. |

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
To me, what is more of a kick-in-the-pants than the price increase is that it seems that this increase is already out in the media, etc, yet I, a longtime Prime subscriber, has still yet to be informed of this from Amazon directly. You'd think if they knew about this already they would have sent an email out.
