Do you have an ad blocker installed on your iPhone?

I would clear the cache on safari; reinstall the vudu app;Do a hardboot; and on PC, change password. I have encountered similar issues before and one of these would normally fix it.

He's not using the app, but he probably should give that a shot.

I just drove a significant distance to a library which wouldn't lend something out, and D2D wouldn't work on my laptop on their wifi. Do they have a fail-safe-of some-kind?

Their fail-safe is to bring it in to Walmart to have them scan it there. D2D is only supposed to be used on discs you own, so there's nothing in place for supporting discs you're unable to bring with you.

For the library: did you try tethering your laptop to your phone? Or you could try a VPN to "tunnel out" of the library network.

I've checked plenty of discs out of the library and used D2D at home. It's worked fine. As a Catholic with a rampaging guilt complex, I don't feel too bad about it; it's not like I'm ripping or burning the discs. I pay for each and every single one out of pocket. It's nigh-impossible to take the discs to Walmart because of the eight of them I've wasted gas driving to, only two have ever been able to do it, and one messed up and did a BD in SD and I had spend a week with VUDU on e-mail fixing it.

I'm not sure if I can; I don't know how to make my phone into a hotspot.

VPNs aren't cheap, unfortunately.

What you're paying is a "conversion fee," which is so cheap because it's based on the assumption that you already previously purchased the movie on disc. The real "out of pocket" for Vudu would be simply purchasing them on Vudu if you don't own the disc.

And I don't really care if you feel bad or not; I was pointing out that Vudu isn't going to support your situation, because it's explicitly against their terms of use.

What phone is it? What carrier?

They can be insanely cheap. Here's a lifetime subscription to one for $39:

Aside from that, you can also set up your own home network VPN. Your router may already have this feature built in.

Fair enough. I'm just saying, I'm not losing sleep over it. Although, in my defense, several of the movies I do own have conversion issues because their D2D program is so buggy. Not using that to justify anything, just saying that they have a LOT of problems to work out with the system. I feel much worse about giving any money to Walmart anyway.

And I don't really care if you feel bad or not; I was pointing out that Vudu isn't going to support your situation, because it's explicitly against their terms of use.
Nor do they have any obligation to. I'm just bitching about first-world problems. Now I do feel bad though .

An iPhone through Verizon. I see the "Hotspot" options pop up as my parents phones, so I'm sure there's a way I can do it with mine. I just haven't looked into it.

Can I bounce it from one computer/smartphone to another?

I live with my parents, I don't know if they want me messing with their stuff. Of course, they don't have to know .

As long as it's not one of the old unlimited data Verizon accounts, you can enable it via the iPhone Settings:

A VPN unlimited account allows for use on up to 5 devices simultaneously; you can deactivate devices at any time (1 per week), to free a slot for a new device to have 5 total activated at a time.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

somehow I missed this, and in case you did to, somewhere along the way Vudu raised their device limits from 5 to 8 (not including PC's which don't go against the cap).

Vudu finally fixed Raiders of the Lost Ark and Temple of Doom. Both movies are now in the correct aspect ratio.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Argh, Nikita Season 1 (the one you can't get with a code) is $14.99 today (usually $29.99) (and UV enabled). If I ever needed a 20% off code, this would be the day, lol.

This is all part of the Heroine sale and is TODAY ONLY.
Also of interest are several movies at $3.99/$4.99:

Under the Skin $3.99
Boys Don't Cry $4.99
Foxy Brown $4.99
Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 $4.99 each (might be better to get the Tarantino 6 pack at $19.99)
Macbeth $4.99
VVitch $4.99...just to name a few.

Nah, these are the same ole blu-rays they have been selling for a long time. But also a good note...the digital versions are not UV enabled either and would only able to be watched on VUDU.

THE Kedrix, so far your 20% off mojo seems to be broken today. You had my hopes up!

Yep, it would appear so. I'm trying to get some Vudu credits to offset things but I don't know if it is going to work out. Might just bite the bullet on Nikita S1.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

For those who care, Magnificent Seven (2016 Remake) is now available in UHD in VUDU. If you were like me and redeemed it correctly through the SonyPictures store, it will now show that you own a UHD copy (yeahie!)
