I only pay $8.50/month with T-Mobile. T-Mobile only pays for the basic plan with ads and I had to pay an upgrade for standard HD. If it goes up $1, no biggie.
I've determined that paying a premium for 4K on streaming services isn't really worth it unless you have a really big TV and souped up audio system.

Wait, I thought everyone was canceling Netflix because all their shows and movies are subpar

When Netflix raised fees last year, there is uproar on social media where people "claimed" they will cancel. But ended up Netflix gaining subscribers too.

$2 more for me per month, so $24 more per year? I get more value from it than any other service, so it works out.

I mean the "only 1 to 2 dollars extra a month" is how they get you. But bottom line is if the content is worth it to you, it's worth it to you. Netflix gives you zero reason to stay subscribed constantly, there's no discount for it, and there's never a Black Friday discount to wait for. Just drop it and pick it up when you have free time and binge.

I jinxed it yesterday. My subscription renewed and I thought $15.49 isn't too bad for Netflix and then it goes up $2.50..... It's going to be close to $20 a month for me after 10% TN sales tax.

Yup... I switched a friend off a $260/mo DirectTV bill to YouTubeTV, Netflix (they already had this) and D+/Hulu/Max bundle and the bill is now less than half.

My bill was $130+. My wife having a baby showed me the error of my ways. You sleep when the opportunity presents itself, which is usually when you sit down to watch something. Why pay for something you can't use?

T-Mobile sent me a text today to alert me of the Netflix price increase. My rate with the $6.99 discount will go up to $11.99/month from $8.50.
T-Mobile is only covering the bare minimum plan with ads for Netflix on us. Everything else will include an upgrade fee.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion
Once Netflix required a single home account, I downgraded my T-Mobile Netflix to the free barebones plan and my daughter in college is using it. At this point, I don't even know how to create a second home account and upgrade it to 4K, I can imagine that the costs are prohibitive to do this. When I visited her last fall, I should have set up Netflix on my phone at her place and maybe get a month or two of service again.

The extra user accounts actually work out well for someone like me. If the primary account is in 4K so are the extra accounts. It's only me so I don't need multiple streams. $8 (soon to be $9) a month for 4K/no ads is nice.

I'm guessing that's only for the rich people who can afford the premium tier?

Netflix finds a good use for their war chest of funds and steps in to keep production of Sesame Street going, to air on their network and PBS on the same day.
