Plex
Just got a Roku and using Plex
Have sorted out my movies, however, cannot figure out how to sort my TV shows
Can someone help me sort out how to add individual series to Plex?
I have a few TV series yet they will not add to the TV Show section
I am sure it is how they are named/structured, but just cant seem to figure this out
For example, I have;
C:\DOWNLOADS\TV Shows
then in there, individually named folders with for example 6 episodes of TV show, individually named
I know I am doing something wrong - any ideas?
Thanks

Re: PLEX has arrived to the XBOX One
Can we blame the Xbox One addition for tonights Plex crash?

I didn't want to create a new thread for Plex, but they pushed a big update for us PlexPass members:
https://blog.plex.tv/2014/11/20/introducing-plex-home/
Finally have proper multi-user controls

Re: Plex friends?
While an overall grey area, I think that would be frowned upon here. Not sure though.

Re: Plex friends?
Wouldn't that involve other people streaming movies from your local storage, bogging down your internet connection and tying up your computer's resources?

Anyone using Plex with cloud storage?
I currently use Plex with a local NAS. But at least once a year, a drive goes down. And I'm always worried about losing everything.
I noticed that Google Drive offers 1TB for $10/month. That would be a great option for some of my irreplaceable media.
Has anyone tried using Plex with a cloud storage service like Google Drive? Is it easy to set-up? How well does it work? Are there any problems like buffering?

At least that's how it used to work, not sure if that's changed. Google Drive offers 15gb for free, so you can toy with it now if you would like to.
Nevermind, that was all an "off-line back-up", the newer Plex Cloud exists now, separate from Plex Cloud Sync.
I don't see how this is an included feature, as it spins up a virtual Plex server in the cloud for you to use. But hey I'll take it. I just demoed it, it's a little slow to start-up a movie and when you skip around, but otherwise works fine. As I /s'd out above, Google Drive offers 15gb for free, so you can toy with it now if you would like to.

Re: Anyone using Plex with cloud storage?
I don't know how much data you have on your NAS, but if 1TB of Google Drive space was enough for you, then it sounds like you don't have very much data. But even if you have a lot of data, you can easily get a single external 8TB drive like for just $149, and then duplicate your NAS to that drive. Your NAS may have functionality built-in already to periodically backup/sync itself to another volume.

Re: PLEX has arrived to the XBOX One
It's a grey area, it's a personal library of video/music files they decided to share with you. If it's movies, probably not -- unless they were DRM-free to begin with. If it's home videos, definitely.
All Plex does is present your media collection in a style similar to Netflix and transcodes as necessary.

Re: PLEX has arrived to the XBOX One
I have a Plex question as I just started using it for my bedroom tv. My media player is on my living room TV. This is the first time I have had more than 1 tv setup at the same time. If the information is incorrect for say a TV show, is there anyway to fix it from the app or can it only be fixed while logged into the computer?

Re: PLEX has arrived to the XBOX One
I don't believe you can fix it from the app. If your phone is large enough, you can fix it via Chrome remote desktop, assuming you use a Windows machine for your server.

^ Correct. The only action like that you can do from your devices is delete.
Otherwise you need to log into the website to modify it.

Re: Plex
Yeah, I think you still have to sideload Kodi but Plex you can get via the Amazon store.

Re: Plex
Many people deny it, but Kodi is an app that is mostly used for piracy. It's a media player like Plex.
Side loading is opening your device to install non official apps created by third parties. Amazon does not recommend doing it, but many do anyways. You basically void the warranty by doing it.

Re: Plex
Plex now has free streaming Movies & TV Shows (ad-supported). Update your app and it's available on the sidebar under "Movies & TV".

Re: Plex
Interesting way of trying to infiltrate the pirates. Don't have the movie on your Plex server? Here, it's RIGHT HERE, FREE.

Small but decent selection of older and obscure movies. The original Evil Dead movies, Battle Royale, The Right Stuff, Over the Top, Repulsion, Raging Bull, etc;
