There was an article yesterday in Variety that states that the BBC shows are remaining on Netflix.

The Interview will be available this Saturday

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

Netflix will have 'The Interview' streaming on Saturday

In the midst of Netflix's Q4 financial report (if you're wondering - it added the expected amount of subscribers this time, unlike Q3) it revealed a few things viewers will actually be interested in. First of all, it's going to have The Interview available for streaming to US and Canadian subscribers starting Saturday. That puts the Sony Pictures flick on streaming just about a month after its unconventional Christmas Day theater / video on demand launch that netted $40 million online, and ahead of its Blu-ray release February 17th.

Also, its first movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon II: The Green Destiny is scheduled to debut everywhere on August 26th, hitting "select" IMAX screens at the same time it premieres on Netflix. That's part of an original content push that will bring 320 hours of original series, films, documentaries and stand-up comedy to the service this year -- triple the amount it had in 2014 (bookmark the list of premiere dates posted here). As usual, Netflix is broadcasting its earnings call live on YouTube, and you can watch it after the break.

Brothers Bloom, Joe, and Spartacus look good. The rest not so much.

Ralphie May, Russell Brand and Fluffy, does it get any worse?

Those three are league better than some of the stuff out there, ie: Dat Phan and Jeff Dunham

The Swedish version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was added back after a short absence.

Spartacus is so god damned awesome. Everyone should make that one a priority.

Just noticed Season 2 of "Crossing Lines" is now available, thought Season One was pretty good procedural with David Fincher and Donald Sutherland, looks good in HD and some cool Euro settings.

Just watch The Interview this morning on Netflix. Thought it was okay, some funny scene but otherwise not a film to watch over again.

Jacoby Ellsbury 01-26-15 02:12 PM

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

I half-laughed about 3x through the interview and one of the times was eminem's dry humor.

Superbad and This is the End are about the only two movies I have somewhat enjoyed from this group of Freaks and Geeks. I find Seth, Jason and James pretty lame and annoying.

PerryD 01-26-15 02:38 PM

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

I enjoyed the Interview, but my wife fell asleep halfway through the movie. I had my expectations in check, so perhaps that helped, but I thought it was really funny. I'm glad I didn't spend the $16 to own the digital version which I came close to buying last month.

Brack 01-26-15 04:25 PM

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

I watched it on Netflix too, and I was thoroughly amused and laughed quite a bit. It's a shame it didn't get a proper release, because it certainly didn't skimp on the budget. Lots of quick-witted humor. If you want a laugh a minute movie it may disappoint, but how many movies come out each year that even provide that? One if we're lucky.

RichC2 01-26-15 07:38 PM

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

I personally enjoyed it a great deal, though there are hints early on that it could have been a better movie. ie: Rogen traveling to China and Sook's first appearance. When they settled into North Korea, it became like any other flick they've done, but I enjoyed it for what it was.

Really cool movie. I watched it with the original back to back. It was an enjoyable double feature.

Horns didn't leave much of an impression on me. Netflixed it and it was decent, but nothing memorable imo.

DVD gets released February 24th. My guess would be at least 90 days afterwards. That's typically the timeline after a TV show gets released on disc to streamimg.

Got zero promotion by Netflix, but their new original series "Richie Rich" was posted today.

whotony 02-20-15 10:24 PM

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

Richie Rich isn't on any list at NF that I could see, had to do a search..
Pretty terrible, except for the robot maid that wears a sexy French maid costume.

Also for those that can get it, Better Call Saul and Jodorowsky's Dune is up on foreign NFS.
I was searching on a dozen different countries so I forgot were I saw those 2.

DJariya 02-20-15 10:30 PM

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

I think Netflix saw that Richie Rich sucked and that's why they didn't even bother promoting it.

hanshotfirst1138 02-23-15 12:10 AM

Still, if it was an original series, you'd think they'd have at least tried to promote it, it probably cost them a lot of money.
