Well, I just signed up for half.com and already sold $70 worth of DVDs I wish I never bought... didn't make a profit really, I sold them for less than what I bought them for since they're used and stuff..

Anyway, I never used ebay before.. was wondering if anyone has used both, and if so what do you prefer and why?

I tend to use both, and it all depends on which site is fetching a higher price for the item(s) I plan to sell.

Exactly.

For items that aren't rare or HTF, and are pretty common, I'd go with half. I've sold some titles there for prices that have thrown me for a loop. Granted they get 15% off the top, but some of the prices realized make it worth it. Also, the buyer can't contact you with questions, which a lot of sellers like.

Use Ebay for SOME of your harder to get items. Run a search first of past auctions to see what the item is selling for. Ebay charges less commission and allows you to any some profit on shipping, unlike Half. But, expect questions from buyers....

An overwhelming majority of the time, I use half.com. It is much easier to sell items and you are much less likely to run into a problem with the seller.

I only consider eBay when the product has serious collector's value. Even then, I have reservations. I prefer not to rip people off.

Half has higher commission fees, but a buyer can't flake out since they purchase it through their shopping cart system rather than waiting to contact w/ the seller to pay w/ Paypal, MO's, etc..

I prefer Half.com....Its so much faster and easier to sell items.

All you have to do is list your items....Wait for one or more to sell....Print off the invoice....Put it in a small box or padded envelope and ship it media mail to the person...Pretty quick and painless.

Ebay on the other hand.....Spend lots of time writing a listing and then listing the item....Listing fees....Waiting for the buyers money...If its a check waiting more time for it to clear....Lots of emails such as: received your payment, check cleared, sent item....etc. To top it off there are usually questions about the items during the auction.

SO you can see which process takes more steps.
