I noticed a post on this at the HTF. Buy.com is now charging $1.95 per dvd for shipping.

Product Per Order Per Item
DVDs, CDs & Cassettes - $1.95 each

It doesn't surprise me. The postal service raised rates in January and, I believe, the courier services followed. I was expecting a more across the board increase on shipping from all of the on-line vendors.

Wasn't it $2.90 before? It looks cheaper to me.

Before it was $1.99 per order and $0.99 per disc. Now it's $1.95 per dvd. For people order just one dvd it doesn't make a difference, but it starts to make a lot of difference when you buy a lot of discs. Basically raised the rate for each dvd by $1.

So for 1 disc it about $1 less. For 2, it is about the same. At 3, it starts the increase. What about box sets?

Never ordered a box set from buy.com but I'm pretty sure it counts as one dvd. Might be totally wrong though.....

Yeah, box sets are one item (unless they changed that too).

It's not a surprise. It's been coming for a while.

Sucks for me though. I have to get things shipped internally, then I have to get things shipped down here so I have to pay shipping twice.

But, that's the price you pay for living out here I guess.
