OKay guys here's what's up:
I have several amazon promo GCs, one for $100, one for $50, and a few for $10. I'm ordering batteries for $1.50ish for each separate GC, and then the remainder gets credited to my account. My question is if I cancel the orders, will they send me another promo GC or will they credit my account? I don't want them to reissue the GC, I want them to credit my account.

Betho, cancelling your order causes a glitch in the Amazon matrix. Based on a software bug, you might lose all the GC/credit. I did.
They will send you out a new GC with the $$ on it. Not worth cancelling. Just buy the batteries and accumulate the credit.

Amazon seem to be very fond of accidently losing customers credit.
I had $17 dissappear of my account there the other day.

What I do is I buy an e-book for $1.79 no shipping each time i want to use a promo, let the balance stay in the gc acct, then buy another ebook for another promo gc and so on, until I have it all in there.

Betho Like randyc stated you will most likely lose the credit from canceling an order, I have many, many times. I think, however, huzefa has the right idea with the e-book thing, that way you save $5 in shipping..(who cares about $2 in the grand scheme of things).

If you use part of a promo GC, is the remaining balance available for any purchase? I thought it wasn't, but does anyone know otherwise?<HR>
Yes I dumped one of the $150 MCI gc's into an account buying staples, then I dumped another promo GC for 20% off into my account with the final order..
Use the e-book purchase to minimize the losses on adding promotional GC's..

I used the MCI $150 GC (plus $10 in CC) to buy several DVD's. After they had shipped around $30 worth of the order, I cancelled $130 worth of the stuff. The balance of the GC ($120) disappeared. I e-mailed Amazon.com and it took them 4 weeks
to give me a reimbursement in a form of GC. However, they apologized for the mistake and for taking so long and gave me a new promotional GC for ... $185.I guess getting the extra $65 makes up for it, but it still sucked cuz I couldn't use the $120 to get Christmas presents that I had wanted to get for people ...

How in the heck did Amazon decide on $65...
Why not $50 or $25 or some round number....$65?!?!?! Leave it to Amazon to confuse and bewilder their customers...

Alright, I don't get this thread.
In a thread I posted on this page, I asked whether a remaining balance on a promo gc will be then considered a regular GC (i.e. stackable with coupons and other GCs). For example, if I purchase $10 using my MCI $150 GC, then I will have $140 leftover... now will that be a stackable GC balance then?
Someone replied "nope"
Now I find this thread here with a person asking about combining promo GCs... if that person purchased batteries using the promo GC and was credited the remaining balance, why would that person do it if the remaining balance is still promo (i.e. non-stackable?).
Can someone help me out here please? My MCI GC is going to expire soon....
