They're probably updating their database. It happens from time to time with all ecommerce sites.

Could be worse, you could have picked a DVD, worked your way through checkout, and got that message at the end... Happened to me at many a site..

If that's it, shouldn't they be doing it at, like, 3am? We use it as a resource all day every day here at work and I've never seen this.

Are YOU volunteering to come in at 3AM and do the work?

Maybe Bezos isn't such a sh*thead after all and/or likes to treat his workers like humans.

Or maybe they figured out that people are much more likely to make big f*ckups at 3AM and cost them tons of cash and bad PR.
