Problem affecting the MCI Amazon $150 GC

Okay, I got my $150 GC a week or so ago and I go crazy on Amazon. Bought 3 DVD's, a book, a tea kettle (it was on sale!) and a hammock for my parents cabin.
Well, Last weekend I find out they already have a hammock so on 12/9 (saturday) I call to cancel. They're supposed to refund $10 to my checkcard and $40 to my GC. Check later on Saturday, no credit on my GC. So I call them and the guy says sometimes it can take 24 hrs.

Okay...

So I check Sunday...nothing...
Monday...nothing...so I call, I get transferred to an "order specialist" who tells me that yes, there is indeed a problem and it seems to be a technical problem rather than a human error problem (whatever that means) so she'll research it and get back to me (via e-mail). I get the e-mail hoping it will say, "problem fixed, go shopping" but no, it says, "we are further researching this"

So I call back again today and speak with another "order specialist" he tells me that they have ran into some major (in his words "sticky") problems with crediting back the MCI GC if an order is cancelled in part or whole. Due to the number of people this has affected, they have a "colleague" working on it "full-time" but he couldn't tell me for sure when my GC would be credited back but he did know it would not be in the next couple of days...

From what the specialist said, this is a problem specifically affecting the MCI GC

Welcome to the club---iv had the same problem on a couple orders with these GC(two of them)say you order 150.00 even PD.in full with the GC..you cancel 1 item for 50.00 well now you order total is -50.00,with no credit to you..real pain in the *ss what i did was say i ordered something else for 100.00 on a different order,i had them adjust my price on that order 50.00 for the credit they owe me..so now that item only cost me 50.00..confused????well like i said real pain in the *ss...matter of fact AMAZON has been a pain in the *ss for the past month or so....good luck--one more thing,no one after several e-mails and manny phone call ever got back to me...again,good luck...

Keep trying! When I spoke with the guy earlier he asked if I needed it for anything immediately, I told him I'd wanted to buy Gladiator as an xmas gift for someone (honestly, I just wanted to watch it next weekend) he said he'd see what he could do and e-mail (I thought to myself, I'll never hear from this guy again)...well, I did get an e-mail they are giving me Gladiator for free for my inconvenience etc..and his e-mail was very apologetic.

I checked my amazon acct just to make verify it and sure enough, waiting to ship is 1 free gladiator DVD.

(call today, from the way it sounded they've just recently figured out what they are going to do about this) 1-800-201-7575 (I have the number memorized)
