I know what *I'll* be doing tomorrow afternoon.
The box is beautiful. It opens up to reveal a really nice shiny red package with a ribbon for easy access to pop it out. *Very* nice looking. Anybody else get theirs yet? I totally forgot about it. Nice surprise. Now if they would only ship my damn Cowboy Bebop 6.

This was the only thing i picked up at Best Buy last week. They dragged all the new release's of the week out, and i was surprised it was there. I had forgotten when the release date was, and simply picked it up and bought it. When i got home, i was amazed there was no real advertisement for it... then i realized that release date was still a few weeks away.
then i got real
Its nice indeed.

Excellent!
My own habit is to wait for Sunday's Best Buy ad sheet (in the Los Angeles Times) to check on the price. If it's low enough, I buy it there, and if not, I go to one of my chosen web sites for purchase.
My question for both of you is what price did you pay?
Thanks.

Thanks for the price info.
My wife and I use buy.com (as well as other firms) coupons regularly, so even if buy.com raises the price of The Sopranos box even more by tomorrow, I believe I will still get a very good competitive price.
Though 'Gone In 60 Seconds' is not a great movie, Best Buy priced it at $14.99 (and today it is still that price since it was released - though this may be the last day). Sometimes this happens at Best Buy where they will beat all known prices. Sometimes they will mark items even lower or advertise a guaranteed low price without mentioning what that price is. It's worth waiting til release day sometimes.

Alright, alright -- enough about the packaging (which is very sharp). Let's talk about the transfer!
Have any widescreen owners had the chance to watch this one? The 16x9 enhancement was such a great move for this package -- the show looks far better than it did on DirecTV. Also, many of the shot compositions were created with widescreen in mind, so it makes each episode feel even more like a mini-movie.
I also liked the little extras they included. When you are in a menu for a specific episode, you can read a synopsis of that episode and also see HBO's 'teasers' for the previous and next episodes from that point.
As a Sopranos fan, I thought this was well worth the money spent.
