Perhaps I should post this in Online Stores forum, but here it goes.
I received the X-Files Season 2 today, shipped USPS, in a bubble envelope. Nothing else. No carton to reinforce its edges, nothing. Sure enough, I opened the package and there were some small dents on the sides. Don't mind my remark, I am such a dork when it comes to my DVDs.
Don't know what to think about Amazon anymore. This was a 100 dollar value package, they could have shipped it through UPS or at least in a BOX. I know, USPS shipps fater, from experience, but on any big value pkg, Amazon has always shipped with the insurance protection, aka tracking #s. The irony is that not long ago, my brother ordered a child's book from them, and a book of stickers and they shipped separately, so when he got this huge box, he opened it, and on the bottom, between bubble wrap, the stickers, value $1.25. Go figure!

From: I was here but I disappear
That stinks. Sorry. For future reference (not that these things are consistent) Express shipped it in a box, priority, wrapped in some sort of foamy sheet. It arrived just fine.

A BUBBLE envelope? One of the reasons I preordered from Amazon was because all my single DVD's come in tight box packaging! Have you noticed they have changed their return policy? Now you are no longer refunded the shipping charge when returning an unopened item.
My preordered X-files 2 is arriving late because they shipped it yesterday and now it will probably be damaged from the inferior shipping materials. I think I'm going to bite the three dollar shipping charge and just go down to Best Buy tommorrow and buy it there undamaged.

Call them and complain.
Have them make it right. This is their fault. If they don't want to make it right change your phrasing to say the product is damaged... think of the case on this kit as being equal to at least 30% of the value of the kit. Let them know you'll accept this amount or some other amount of credit instead of an exchange.
This has worked for me in the past.
When it's resolved, call Fox and try to get a replacement case.

My X-Files Season 2 was sent yesterday from Amazon via UPS and arrived today in a box as usual with excellent packing materials inside. In fact, the box itself was further protected by being tightly wrapped by plastic with the invoice neatly folded and taped to the dvd box. Go figure.

My kids order status for X-files 2nd Season Boxset still shows:
Item Availability: 1 on hand
Estimated Delivery: December 4 - December 8
Every time they look up the status of their order, the estimated delivery date keeps on getting pushed back.

Amazon.com is steadily going down hill, to bad both me and my kids, still have a substantial amount of gc credit left in our accounts.

Received mine from Amazon today as well. It was not only bubble wrapped it also was sealed tightly in plastic on a carboard sheet. This thing couldn't move if you through it around like a frisbee. Sounds like the same wrapping job as "cracksky". It was in Mint shape. I'd call and demand them to ship it to you with the same packing material that me and "cracksky" received.
