I received my Fantasia Anthology today from Amazon, they upgraded the shipping from standard to UPS ground without me even requesting it. So, that impressed me.
But, when I got it out of the shipping box, I heard a rattling sound, which didn't sound good to me.
I opened the set and examined each disc in order. When I got to the 3rd, extras, disc one of the tabs to hold the dvd in place was missing, and the dvd had been flopping around during shipping. It was pretty scratched up.
So, I called amazon and the woman was very pleasant and apologized for the problem. She placed a new order for me, no charge, and is sending itsecond day air.
So, Amazon continually does good by me. And this set was placed with all gift certificates, so makes it nice to have.

Isn't ground shipping standard?

I agree - they generally have the best online customer service

Nope.. everything I have had shipped to me came via US post office.
The set came today via UPS ground.

I've had the same experiences with MovieGallery, Barnes and Noble, and SoftwareBuys. I think both the shipping upgrade (some might argue that one -- UPS lost one of my B&N orders, USPS never did), and the easy replacement with great customer service are not at all unique.

Maybe you're surprised Amazon did what they should have done given some of our recent experiences there?

I hate it when they ship by UPS because they usually arrive later than USPS.

Vryce, was your order shipped in plastic wrapped onto a cardboard in an oversized carton?

Last time I recieved my Toy Box in just a lousy cardboard wrapped packaging with no cushioning at all. Of course the boxset was slightly crushed in a corner.

Actually, amazon's standard shipping is either USPS or UPS ground depending on how Amazon is feeling that day. I called to ask about this once, they said that you can email them and request one deliverer over another if you have had problems with one or the other. I will say this. Amazon blew me away this week. I pre-ordered Perfect Storm and Fantasia 3 disc set this week. Both mailed together on Monday night, and I had them in hand Tuesday afternoon. (They came UPS). I've never gotten anything this quick before.
