hey all,
just wondering, if you sell a dvd to amazon, does amazon buy it at your sale price or does amazon post it for someone else to buy it??? is this something like an auction or something. thanx

It's a very strange system, but it looks as if it's another variation on their usual auctions. I tried to sell something this afternoon and it said that I had to sell it for list price or over - what????

Here is an explanation of Amazon's pricing rules for selling your own used items:

Used: When you specify that your item is used, you'll be required to set a price at least 20% below Amazon.com's price for the same item, new. Why? Buyers aren't interested in used items with prices equivalent to the new price. The 20% rule is just our way of ensuring buyers find the sort of value they'll find compelling.

Collectible: If you specify that your item is collectible--signed, or rare, for instance--you'll be required to set a price above the list price. Why? If an item is truly collectible, it should command a price greater than an ordinary copy of the same item.

What? I think their rule is really just to help you sell better, you know.

Feel free to list all your crap DVDs with a high price and see anyone's interested...
