I have 4 $10 samgoody.com giftcards, and one $35 one. I know for paper gift certificates, you can combine them paper gc's of any amount, and buy plastic giftcards that you can use online, but in my case I have all plastic giftcards that can't be used all together.
Samgoody.com only allows for 3 giftcards to be used for one order, which is suck!
Can I go to a local suncoast/samgoody/musicland/oncue/mediaplay store, and trade my 4 $10 giftcards for one big fat $40 dollar giftcard so I may buy off dvd's off there site?!

I was able to trade in 3 cards w/ small denominations for 1 card w/ the combined amount at the Suncoast at Woodfield Mall.
I just explained that prices were cheaper online and wanted to do a trade.
They gave me grief, but they did it.
I actually shop there quite often and was surprised at the grief, but I understand they wanted me to spend more at their B&M.
No harm in trying.
Good luck.

Thanks Sparrow, I live around that area, I'll give it a shot.
The online customers reps are buffons. One says you can trade up at the store, the other says you can't do that, plus you can only use 3 gift certificates per order, and we can't order your dvd's if give us the giftcard numbers cause of the 3 per order rule. I'm confused, anyone else with sucess with combining the smaller plastic gc's into a bigger giftcertificate.
I know some of you exist with this problem now, because of firstlook.com shutting down, and the rush to cash out your rewards. I don't think anyone would shop at the B and M stores, because of the full retail price they charge on thier items. I wished that firstlook.com gave away the paper giftcertificates, it's so easy to combine gc's without any hassle.

Something I've learned.
If you reserve a DVD that is coming out, the prices you pay will not be the full price at SunCoast. I had some gift cards and thought I had to paid full price for The Patriot. BUt since I've reserved a copy, it was only $19.99 rather than the $27.99 full price they would have charged if you didn't reserve it.
So I save $8. Free is free but $8 saved is even better.

If the stores give you grief about consolidating cards, buy a bunch of DVD's that add up to the total of all of your cards. Then immediately return them.
Keep in mind that a card can only hold up to $100.

Cool, there's an option 2. I keep getting denied on the phone from samgoody.com online, one minute yes, then no.
Thanks peep, I am running out of options, but you came through with a good one.
