Just got an email from twec.com cancelling my $10 off 2 DVD order. I imagine y'all will be getting similar notices soon.

They cancelled mine too! Do they have any right to do this, since these are still in print and they could obviously get them if they wanted to? What can we do about this?

All I can say is do not shop there anymore...they have been cancelling orders now for over one week!!! They must not be too well off financially!!!!

Yeah, they cancelled mine too! Is there anyway to force them to honor the order? I'm willing to wait until they send it.

It seems to me that unless they aren't being produced any more, they should honor the orders!

Well, i ordered Pump Up The Volume and 16 candles with the $10 off two thing...i got Pump up the volume and they took $10 off (got my credit card statement) However, they did cancel 16 candles. Oh well, Pump up the volume was just about free then. Hmmm, i still have another pending order there...i doubt i'll see that one......

They did that to me too, but are u sure they wont just charge u 10 bucks on the next statement?

They seem to be having some serious issues over there, don't they.

I've tried to warn people to steer clear of TWEC for months now. They aren't in any financial trouble, that is not the problem. The problem is that they don't give a rat's ass about customer service. They own record town, coconuts, fye, camelot, saturday matinee, tape world, strawberries & planet music. They feel that even if they piss off a relatively small portion of their customer base, they will still make loads of cash. The company treats their customers almost as badly as their employees. For each of the orders that they cancelled, they sold 10 times that at their brick and mortars. My best advice is that you ignore them altogether, even if they manage to come up with a decent looking coupon.

Have anyone gotten anything from TWEC? I just ordered three titles using the 25% coupon and got free shipping as well. Only 1 title was listed as available, two others as "backordered." I'm curious if people are getting items from them, or if TWEC stands for "This Won't Ever Come."

Here's an e-mail I just sent them regarding an order that was cancelled and another that was half-filled and will be cancelled probably tomorrow:

I just cancelled my TWEC order and went back to buy.com. I added one more disc to the order to bring it over $50, got my free shipping, got almost the same prices without a coupon, and will get my stuff early next week. I don't know what other experiences are with Buy, but they have never, ever screwed me, they have the best prices, and if you have enough different credit cards you'll never be without a $10 coupon.

As for TWEC, don't bother. They have no stock. Zero. Even the item that wasn't "backordered" wasn't going to ship until next week. What's with that?

Hmmm..should someone send TWEC "customer service" a link to these posts? Have to go to work now-maybe I will when I get back. They'd like that.

Just got my cancellation for Weird Science and Prince of Darkness. Jeez, took long enough to get the notice.

I just got my notice for Midway and 16 candles. Midway shipped and they charged me 10.88 plus $3.99 s&h plus $1.29 tax and they cancelled 16 candles. I'll have to contact them. I haven't opened Midway so I'll return it.

I preordered 4 dvds from them - got the first 3 without problem, but when Triumph of the Will was delayed until 11/14 it must have blew their mind - they cancelled mine today. Hopes are not high for my Element of Crime (now on backorder) either. I think I'll stick to ordering cds from these guys in the future. They've come through without fail for music orders.

Everyone, try calling them to have your orders re-instated. Another thread a couple of weeks ago said it works without a hitch. My Element of Crime is also on backorder, but I have received many deliveries from the "25% off" coupon plus free shipping when ordering 3 DVDs. Couldn't be happier.

I know this won't help anyone, but I got a shipping notice for my James Bond 3 set that I used the 20% coupon on like last tuesday. I expect it to be at my p.o. box today or monday. So far no problem, but I'll have to wait and see, I guess...

After telling them I didn't want them to cancel my order they finally reactivated (may a new order number) the order including the $10 off 2 DVD coupon.

I received an email yestarday saying both Weird Science and Sixteen Candles had shipped on 10/25/2000!

Better late than never I guess....

weeks back, after it got yanked. They
sent me new info, and my 10$ was
applied to the order. I just got an email
saying that 16 and science have shipped,
but this time with free shipping! I guess
it was reinstated when they had free shipping?

I ordered 4 or 5 DVDs from them during the 25% off deal. As each one came available they sent it to me. I'm only waiting for one more.
