Starbucks to close 150 US stores as sales growth underwhelms

I think the number of Starbucks stores they were building in this country was getting ridiculous. Seems like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts were trying to see how many stores they could cram into each city, every time one of them would open one, the other had to open one too, and usually close by. I only feel bad for the people they're going to put out of jobs.

FYI Starbucks has 27300 locations. Haha. I don’t think anyone will notice 150 closing.
They need to be careful about growth, with hot places like Dutch Bros becoming popular.
I’m a Starbucks addict and go there out of convenience. I know I can make better coffee at home. But prefer swinging by the drive thru on the way to work.
The spinach feta wrap tho ... I can’t make a breakfast that fast and yummy.

Dutch Bros?
I’m guessing the 150 stores will be in places like Target, or those Starbucks locates within a block of each other, like in Seattle. Not even a blip on the radar.

Starbucks sells coffee for $5 a cup. Their profit margins must be insane.

Their specialty drinks are $4-$6. But those also take 3-4 minutes for an employee to whip up. They include specialty ingredients like milk.
Their current problem is that they're kind of turning into the McDonald's of coffee. Too many other awesome coffee shops becoming famous. And that "burnt" taste isn't all that endearing.
I just had a Dutch Bros. open up next to my apartment. After the initial lines die down, I might start going there instead of Starbucks.
