just received Jurassic Park Collection from buy.com and it's full screen. I know it was discussed before, but I could not find any info. Which B&M stores will allow me to exchange it since I don't have a receipt and don't want to go through a hassle of sending it back to buy.com? Thanks in advance.

I know I have exchanged items such as this at Best Buy without a receipt!! As long as it is sealed there should be no problem.
Just tell them you received it as a gift.

This works at Wal-Mart as well if you say you got it as a gift, I returned that $7.99 Deep Blue Sea there and got High Fidelity.

Will Kmart do the same thing? I mean, will Kmart return an item you received as a gift without a receipt?

- You guys have no qualms about doing this? I mean, this is like ripping off the B&M retailer isn't it?

I actually called Best Buy today and they said that as long as it's sealed, they'll let me trade. Didn't have time to go today, but hopefully they'll do it. Thanks for the info.

If you have a problem with people trying to get the best deal on what they want, than I think your in the wrong place. I'm not trying to scam anybody, just want the widescreen version instead of the full screen.

- No, I don't have a problem with people trying to get the best deal that they can. I do it too when I can. I also don't have a problem with you wanting a widescreen version vs a full-screen version, but the fact remains that you and others are basically taking advantage of the B&M stores. If enough people do this, then these retailers may be forced to tighten up their return policy and this will affect people who are returning items legitimately.

scratch Best Buy from the list of B&M stores which lets you exchange without receipt. What pisses me off is that I called them, they said, sure no problem, as long as it's sealed you can exchange it, than I get there today and the story is - no receipt, no exchange. Looks like I'll have to try Wal-Mart next.
