I jumped on a deal for a modem a few weeks back and it turned out staples.com had the wrong picture and model number attached to the picture so i got the wrong modem. I figure you win some you lose some so i call them to discuss the problem and they let me know that i will be sent a prepaid label to return it and a credit right away to my account. I had used a coupon and this is where things got interesting. I see two charges on my card. one for the modem and another for $20 dollars plus tax which i assumed was the coupon. I called again and they told me how sorry they were but i needed to be charged for the coupon since they were crediting the whole amount back to me. I figure ok but why do i have two charges and no credit and why are you charging tax on the coupon when i am not being refunded tax for the coupon. He checked and sure enough the credit would be $1.55 short of refunding my money. He then tells me that he will get another credit to me right away to cover the 1.55 overcharge. I again ask about my refund since my charges are now higher due to this new charge and the credit that i still do not see. He tells me i will see it any day now. The purchase was on 9/30. the charges were on 10/3. i called back again on 10/5. again on 10/9.now on 10/11 i still see no credits i have sent the item back and my credit card cycles on 10/12 . They are looking into it for me so i guess i will be calling again in the morning.
Be careful when dealing with staples.com. I ignored the problems many had had in the past in order to get a good deal and am paying the price.
Venting feels good and i did not even use the word suucckk once opps!
