I preordered mine in JUNE, and will get mine "by December 1st." (well whoopeedoo. I'll have a game, a controller, and an 8 MB memory card to look at. OOh, they sure are purdy)

What's the status on your EBWorld order? Gonna get it on launch day? Or will you get it "Before Dec. 1st"?

I received the same email you are speaking of regarding receipt of the system anywhere between Oct. 26th and Dec. 1st....a friend of mine received one which ended with a Dec. 21st date!!

Hopefully, we will see ours on or about launch date!!!

I preordered Medal Of Honor 2 so this should keep me busy until then!!!

Yeah, I read your thread, but no one was actually saying if they were getting one on the launch date or not. They were too busy bickering about why PS2 was or was not a good system.

Oh, wow, I just saw the part about your friend's letter w/ the Dec. 21 date. That really sucks!

I would not get too excited....they said they do not think the shortage will prevent them from getting this to you on the scheduled date. Hopefully, you will see this as scheduled!! I am still holding out hope that I may still see my system around launch date....they are basically giving me the dates from 10/26 thru 12/01!!!

Methinks they put that in there just in case some strange happenstance occurs. From what I understand, EBWorld has ALREADY RECEIVED their alotment of PS2's, and they spent the past few days setting up orders (I called to add something to my order on Thursday, and to inquire about the shortage, and the guy explained what was going on).

Cartman, when did you place your initial order? And, btw, you suck!

Hmmmmm... I read in the first post that his order was placed in June... I wonder why he isn't getting his on time... That's the closest to a release date as I'm gonna give you for fear of angry calls getting to them changing statuses . When did you all order yours? Am I the only one with the "lucky" email?

I preordered my system in April from....Hmmmmm should I tell them where I preordered from originally??? Okay, I preordered through Gamedealer and it was transferred over in June!!! I had used about four different coupons which is why I used Gamedealer originally and Ebworld honored these!!! $20 coupon for the system, and 3 $10 off coupons for two games and a memory card. My order was still in with Ebworld in mid-June so I am sure I will be seeing my system prior to Dec. 1st

Cartman, you're just makin yourself suck more.

Mayve DJones and I will get ours that next week. But that's ok. The release day is actually homecoming weekend for me, so I would not have a chance to play it, anyway. I guess waiting the extra week is not that bad. I've been waiting for almost a year, anyway. What's another week or two? (it better be a week or two, damnit!)

Pre-ordered June 16th. Got the "Before Dec. 1st" e-mail. EBworld.com sucks the big one.

I ordered all the way back on May 13th.... I'll be getting it with the first shipment, from what I've been told.

And it's not EBWorld's fault. It's Sony's. Why people are blaming EBWorld for this, I have no idea.

I'm not. But most people who ordered online ordered from EBWorld. And then there was another site that had its PS2 orders transferred to EBWorld for some reason.

Well I didn't order from Ebworld, but I did from Gamestop.com (online store for Babbage's & Software Etc.).

I placed my preorder on May 3rd. I received an email today saying I'm not getting my system at launch. Here it is:

Dear Gamestop.com Customer,

This email is to let you know that, due to severe product shortages by
Sony, we will be unable to ship your PlayStation 2 game console in time
for launch day, October 26. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience; we
know how long you've been waiting for the PS2 to come out! Here is some
information you need to know:

1. Your order just missed the cutoff - we expect to fill your order from
the next shipments we get from Sony. At this time we do not have a firm
commitment from Sony as to when these additional shipments will arrive.
We will let you know as soon as we get word from Sony!

2. We understand your disappointment and frustration (believe us, we are
frustrated too), and you should know that we are doing everything we can
to fill your order and all other PS2 orders. Despite the launch
reductions by Sony, you are still "in line" to have your order filled, and
as soon as we have an estimated ship date for your order, we'll let you
know.

Hopefully I'll still get mine relatively close to launch. This does reek, though.
