I'm thinking of pre-ordering Gladiator from Buy.com. The price is good ($16.99 and no shipping today)

But I had a bad experience with Express and Braveheart. I got it a week after the release date and I saw it at Costco and Best Buy for less on the release date.

I live in NY, what are my chances of getting Gladiator before the release date with Buy ?

I want this one by the release date the latest.

Will Best Buy or Costco have it this cheap ?

How fast? Well I received my Nightmare Before Christmas Special Edition yesterday and it does not come out till Tuesday. They are usually pretty fast.

Buy.com is pretty much all-or-none with preorders. Some titles you get before street, others seem to take weeks. (My luck has been 50-50. One title took over a month, and I cancelled my Spinal Tap order when it didn't ship over a week afetr the release date.)

If you don't mind risking a wait, get it at Buy. If you want it ASAP try an e-tailer with a better pre-order record like 800.com for a few cents more...

With normal discs, they ship them fast and I usually get them before street date. However, with Limited Editions they don't ship them at all and you have to scramble around elsewhere trying to find the disc before they it goes OOP.

I have always gotten my pre-orders before street date except when I order them two weeks or less before street date.
