That's true, its best to stick to the rules. Its just that I was still able to get the guy who screwed to leave me positive feedback, which I also did for him, in exchange for giving him more time to pay me.

I find ebays funny. You will see ALOT of people getting scammed, ripped off, and generally doing stupid things, and when you try to warn them, or try to make them realize they don't have to pay this, like telling them "well you are bidding on this OOP video tape for 66.00 dollars, BUT there is a another one, this seller has it, and it's going for 1/4th of wha you are bidding on", they get pissed at me! They get nasty and angry!
Same when I see people fighting for a bootleg/dub copy of DIRTY MARY CRAZY LARRY or CONVOY as it is going for 75 dollars, even though someone else is selling a pre-recorded/l copy for half the price, and is closing sooner, they don't listen and continue to raise the price up to 100!
I saw some people fighting over a COPY of a movie that is on A & E cable that day, and was on the previous month, obviously the guy selling the copy is taping it tonight, yet this foreign film was going at 200 dollars! I emailed the winner, telling him the guy will continue to make more copies down the line, so why are you raising the price at 200? and he sent me a nasty email. sure enough, 2 days later after it ended at 203.00, the seller put the so called "rare" copy back in, obviously made another copy, and it went for 100 dollars!
some people, makes you wonder if it's OK to sell copies over originals. "rolleye"

Thanks fab & milkerena.... unfortunately I can't sell the item to the next bidder since the item I was selling was a ticket which was about to expire. Since I gave the deadbeat buyer about 1 week to give me any form of payment/response, I'm screwed. EBay would really be great if only these lowlifes would not participate.

I just sold a bunch of Braveheart DVD's on Ebay, and in my auction, it clearly stated that I take Paypal, Cashier's Check, and Money order, but I got this one email from some lady who said she sent me payment through Billpoint.
I emailed her back and said, well, good for you, but I only take Paypal, Cashier's Check, and Money order.
Haven't gotten a response yet. Does anyone know about Billpoint? If its a pain in the ass to sign up for, or if they collect some kind of fee for withdrawing money, this lady is screwed.

My absolute pet peeve with eBay buyers are those who send you a nasty email 1 week after the auction has ended asking where their stuff is even though you have not received the check they sent out (which will also take 1-2 weeks to clear). And it's not newbie's who do this but people who have 30+ feedback. That so f*cking gets on my nerve.

Salamander: hehehehehehe! I agree! When Office 2000 came out, MS took Outlook 98 off their web site. IT folks suddenly freaked, and prices for the OL98 CD skyrocketed up to $80-$100. I went to most the item pages and emailed the non-winning bidders, telling them that you could buy the MS Press "OL98 Step by Step" for $21, which includes OL98 on CD.
Another great example, guess.com was selling Laetitia Casta posters for $10. I bought a few and sold them all for $25-$40!!! Hehehehe! Dumbasses!

Well at least ebays tries to kick out the deadbeats once they get caught. You should be glad you are not in yahoo, which is a mecca of deadbeats! The experience I had selling in ebays, I had no deadbeat whatsoever. In yahoo, it has been 60/40, and the deadbeats are winning!
You can create over 100 different aliases over there. I saw this one seller, who had 53 positives, reduced to -30 because some guy didn't send the money, she gave him a negative, so he went ahead and created 80 new accounts, and bidded on 80 items, and all gave her a negative!
Or this one guy, who has created over 15 aliasa, and has combines total of -600, and I am sure yahoo can find out about who he is, considering he uses the same e mail all the time, but nothing.
Also yahoo is a mecca for little 9 year old kids selling porn and bootleg DVD to Playstation games, and I have seen many adults get scammed out of 500 to 1000 dollars by some 13 year old and if you read their feedback war, the police finally gets involved, but you read that yahoo just keep sending the bidder who got ripped off a canned message that has nothing to do with the situation!
The place is a cess pool of super deadbeats, to ebay rejects, to honest sellers being ruined by nutcases to honest bidders getting scammed by someone half their age!

Bologna? That's funny.
Even though I've had some negative experiences on eBay, it's exceedingly better than any other large scale auction site. They do make an effort to resolve issues and get abusers suspended. Both of my recent issues with wrongly left negative feedback (by minors who were also suspended) there were ultimately resolved in my favor. As far as auction sites go, eBay is definitely the best. Yahoo is complete anarchy.

Don't forget yahoo is too biased towards the bidders, even deadbeat ones, for they provide the "hits" yahoo needs!

I have to agree about Yahoo auctions at this point. I recently bid on, won, and paid for a laptop. I *always* check feedback first but this time must have forgotten(bit me in the a$$ it did). Looks like the seller is a pure fraud
Thankfully they were "certified" with paypal so it looks like I will get reimbursed! Next time I will check the feedback and use escrow, assuming there is a next time as I still feel a little sick over this one. BTW, bought my last laptop on Ebay and had no problems whatsoever, and after sending a bank check too(this seller had mucho positive feedback). I think I will stay away from Yahoo auctions for a while as they seem ill-conceived, lacking in information, and way too open for abuse
