Buying a Floor Model and the store wants to cancel the sale

Hi,
Looking for some opinions, the following just happened to a friend of mine.

Finally bought a new refrigerator. Floor model. Good savings for what it is.
Paid. Leave. Get a phone "Mrs Moné I'm sorry to tell you. But that model had been previously sold and didn't remove the sale tag."
Arghhhhh wtf Argh ... So anyone have any suggestions what to say to store management that could help get same price and model?

I have no idea what store this happened to her in (this is her current FB post) but what would you do? Is this a bait and switch? Contact the district manager?
I would be PISSED if some store did this to me and I know I would make a stink.

I hope one day you make a benign mistaken and the person affected starts calling your boss and your boss' boss and generally makes a ridiculously big deal about something so small and pointless.

There's a good chance they'll offer her another model at a discount if she's nice about it.

I agree, I told her that if they don't want to do that she should call the district manager. I've never heard of such a thing, but I am sure these things happen more often than not.
Thanks Groucho!

If you wanted to be nasty about it with the store, they almost certainly have to honor the price for that model if your friend has already paid. While a store can refuse your business upfront, they certainly can't sell a product that has been paid for and then renege.
