They added the option of listing "over" half off, and now it has released the flood gates for businesses to list their seemingly endless list of used dvd's at close to MSRP. It was fun while it lasted, but even with the $5 off $10, it has become next to impossible to find a decent deal lately. In some cases they are selling "above" the stinking MSRP!!! It just isn't worth the wait re-loading the just in bin every 10 minutes to come across the super bargain of $15.98 for used "Falling Down" on DVD.

I agree that this change makes finding a decent deal on dvds more difficult, if not impossible.

But...I won't complain too loudly if this causes more people list cds, even at higher prices. It seems like the only things I'm looking for are somewhat hard to find, so I don't mind paying over 50% of MSRP.

Then again, I've never bought dvds at half.com since I've always found the prices to be too high.

I hate the new Over-Half system. I keep items in my Wish List to see at a glance what things are in stock. Now I get all excited when I see a title I want and click on it only to see it like full price.

I hope these sellers eventually wise up and realize that they aren't selling anything by setting the prices so high.

I saw this one guy wanted $30 for a 15-year old used LASERDISC (List price $34.95.) The kicker is, this movie is out on DVD (Galaxina) at a MSRP of $19.98.

Now why would someone want to spend $30 on a used laserdisc when they could get the NEW DVD for half as much at somewhere like buy.com?

I wish that you could email people and tell them they are pricing thmselves out of the market.

I only see the Over Half function as being useful for rare items like OOP Criterios, but people are definitely abusing it.

Why even shop at Half.com when their prices are so high (and not Half-off)? They used to be the first place I'd look if I wanted to buy a book or CD, but now it's becoming pointless. I hope they realize that this will only hurt their business, not grow it.

Too bad they can't just make the Over Half function available on out of print items.

This place was barely worth shopping at prior to the new policy!!! You as a buyer just have to hope that you are buying from a seller who is responsible!!!
