I ordered a pre-order for this Tuesday, and thanks to Echo I now have a couple of GC's I'd like to use. Since my order hasn't shipped yet can I add a couple more pre-orders to save on shipping? If so, how? I saw how you can apply GC's to an existing order but couldn't see how to add any new items. Thanks for the help.

You first have to place a new seperate order for the new items. Once that has been done you can go back to your orders in your account and combine them. You can not just add items to an existing order. Also, if you don't choose the "ship all items when in stock" option they charge you extra for shipping. So if you don't mind waiting until the latest preorder is out, yes, you can save money on shipping by combining orders.

echo725, to add to bigal's response, you don't mention if you used any GCs when you initially placed the order (only that you now have some you would like to add). You cannot combine any order that has been paid for, in whole or in part, by GCs. If you haven't used any GCs yet, do as bigal stated. Then, once you have the orders combined, apply the GCs to the final, combined order.

If you already used a GC, you could try placing the additional order, then e-mail customer service to combine them for you. I've read of others successfully doing this, but have never tried it myself.

I have done the email route to combine orders and they (Amazon) do it quite happily for you. HOWEVER, dont expect them to respond straight away, so only attempt this if the pre-orders are not close to release date.

My first two combine-via-emails took about two days for them to respond to and do, however my last one didnt make it in time. Although I emailed them with what I thought was plenty of time (3 days before release), one order actually shipped before it could be combined with the other one. Still, I did get a nice apologetic email from them for not meeting my request.

If you have used GC's on your original order, you can always go and change the payment method from GC to C.C. Then combine the orders you want, and finally go back into payment method and change back to GC...
...works for me.

Warning...If you have used a promotional GC on the original order which has expired (or you can't remember the code), and you try the above procedure, you will lose it!!!
