tigerdirect = honest or scammers?

I went to buy a nokia phone on this site where it was advertised at a good price and free shipping. Well, after signing up for an account and all that crap, when I get to checkout the only "free" shipping available is to join their "inner circle" at $100 a year (think Amazon Prime but not as good). Bullshit.

I got into a chat with CSR who verifies it is authorized for free shipping but claims it is "working on their end". Again, bullshit. I didn't get free ship option with IE or Chrome. She wanted me to order over the phone... Credit info over the phone? Hell, no.

Anyone have experience with them... good or bad?

Not personally but a guy I work with orders all his computer components from them. He likes them better than NewEgg.

Well, I found my problem, no thanks to their CSRs. If you use both address lines it screws up their checkout. So I can see that it would work for the CSR but not for me. Still, the checkout has a rather serious flaw. I hope the guy who did that doesn't do security...

With all the tech moving fast and price inflation, it's tough to find what we need. But I did find some items at tigerdirect.com. Anybody have a more fresh opinion of them lately before I plunk down some dollars with my corporate card, please? Thank you.

they’ve been around for a long while, but I can’t imagine they have anything that can’t be found elsewhere.

Have you tried other business channels like NewEgg Business, CDW, Ingram Micro, Provantage, PC Connection, Insight?

Yeah, looking for quality webcams like the Logitech Brio, in particular, but most every decent webcam is sold out everywhere.

Except tigerdirect...

Ah I didn’t realize it was a specific high demand product. Well I don’t see much harm in trying to order. It’s not like they’re a scam site. If they don’t actually have it in stock then you can just cancel it.
