A few days ago I noticed a number of changes to Amazon's site -- drop down menus where there had been links, slightly different layout, etc. Sites change all the time and I thought, OK, changes to deal with, but nothing radical. Today it's back to the way it was. Have I missed an announcement about these changes? Were they some sort of beta test? Am I the only one in the world affected?

Amazon randomly picks times to test their new interface and graphic design on users. It's happening to others.

Amazon is supposedly redesigning the site and will launch it around the time their new tablet comes to market.

I had this at work on 1 system but not others nor at home. I emailed my displeasure with the horrible design (yes, it's a *very* tablet centric design) as it's fine for tablets but sucks on a desktop. They "passed the comments along"... for now if you get stuck with it and do not like it simply clear your cookies (if you have FireFox just clear the amazon cookies) and it'll go back to the current design.

On the bright side, their "your item shipped" emails now have the actual items in the subject now. Cool.

I don't care for the new design. And, it's confusing me when I go to their site. Things keep flipping around.
