Re: Amazon Trade-In Credit Question

Anyone ever have them revise a sealed DVD? I sent them a sealed copy of Scary Movie 4, brand new, never opened, still with the security sticker on the top, they revised the condition to Like New. I don't care, it was just an unwanted DVD that was only worth $1 sealed, just curious if anyone has had this happened to them.

Re: Amazon Trade-In Credit Question

Actually I was supposed to get $1.75, I got a quarter. I'm chatting with a guy right now trying to get it credited to me. He says it didn't have the original wrapping, I assured him it did so he gave me the extra $1.50. I think he thought I was lying. Not sure who would lie for $1.50, but whatever.

Before they changed the system, they routinely downgraded like new items so this doesn't surprise me. You might be better off trading to best buy items like that next week for five off a BD.

Re: Amazon Trade-In Credit Question

Back before they had "New" as an option I sent in a sealed dvd as "like new" since that was the highest the scale went and it got downgraded to "good". I fought about that one and was credited the difference.

Re: Amazon Trade-In Credit Question

I didn't have issues with any of the R2 discs I sent in, other than one which was downgraded to like-new. I called and had it changed back to new - they had claimed that it was in 'non-original wrapping', as if I had re-sealed it or something. I received around $275 worth of store credit, so that's my Amazon budget for the next six months taken care of.

Did you list them by UPC or just find the listing on the site?

I just turned in a few, including some sealed ones. I took 4 pictures of each sealed one in case they try to screw me. One was worth 20 sealed!

Re: Amazon Trade-In Credit Question

I've had some old DVD's downgraded, as well as some items upgraded. Seemed kind of random to me, but the difference was minimal so I didn't really care.

Re: Amazon Trade-In Credit Question

I've never had any of my trade-ins downgraded but I have had quite a few that I sent in as "good" revised to "like new".

In my case, I do care. One of them was $20 sealed/new, where as the downgrade would put me at $5. Fortunately, it's a DVD (Army of Darkness) that was limited edition and had a limited run with a serial number on it, so my pictures will prove definitively that the copy I sent in and the pictures I took are from the same one.
