Amazon Marketplace(combining orders)?

I made quite a few orders over the weekend and Amazon combined 4 Marketplace orders into one order. If thats the case, then the seller should give you a break on shipping(I had one that did),but they didn't. One of the 4 items wasn't in stock so I was charged anyways(which is stupid) and then, afterwards, got the refund. The seller could have bought the item from another Marketplace seller and send it too me(which I did), to avoid getting a refund. They said they didn't want to delay shipment. If thats the case, why did they charge me 4 seperate times for shipping? Amazon should put in place new shipping charges for combined orders because the seller is making a big time profit combining orders and saving on shipping.

Don't know if this will be helpful or not, but... Some of these Marketplace sellers also sell through Half.com, Ebay and/or Alibris; marketplace sites that do combined shipping discounts. I generally prefer to buy from 3rd-party sellers on these sites, I only buy from an Amazon seller if it's significantly cheaper and/or Amazon is the only place a particular merchant sells.

It bugs me when professional DVD manufacturers only sell through Amazon Marketplace, like Thunderbean Animation. $15 a DVD + $3 shipping, that's $18 a DVD with no shipping discount.
