Selling on Amazon

Is it relatively easy? I've tried it once before and it was a complete failure, somebody ordered my product but I was never notified. I just scanned through the forms you have to fill out to sell a product, and it looks pretty simple. Now, what happens when someone orders your product? Do you get an email with shipping information, then ship it to the buyers location after you verify that you have been paid? Thanks for the help.

Amazon selling is very easy, provided you can take the huge fees they take out. I believe the fees average 15 to 17 percent of your sale.

I noticed the shipping notifications tend to be sporadic from time to time. I remember a time when I was subscribed to the notifications but never got them. Luckily I checked the account every day (or every other day) so I was able to fulfill orders when I got them.

I'm not sure if I unsubscribed at some point but I don't get any notifications now and only know about sales when I log in.

Wow. Same thing happened to me. I had something sit on there for a few months, before getting a hit. Then I got three sales and took 2-4 weeks to fulfill them. Luckily, nobody freaked out about it.

Re: Selling on Amazon

I've sold 5 or 10 things there, no problems at all. The fees are high, but it seems like less hassle/risk than ebay, so I either sell on Amazon or just give stuff away.

half.com is pretty safe and easy too and a little cheaper.

Amazon's fees are high, but I've noticed things sell for a little more than they would on Half. Also, Amazon gets more eyeballs I think. I haven't sold on ebay in years. I like that you can set it and forget it at Amazon. Amazon is more for common goods, not unique things.
I agree that you probably won't get rich off selling DVDs or stuff like that, but you'll probably do better than at a trade in or garage sale or Craigslist [unless it's just my CL that's full of cheap people.]
I have been getting my sale notifications.
